Mother’s Day is just around the corner and to many, it’s been a tough, past year. We had our first son during COVID and it was tough not having our parents and parents in law to aid us. And in some months, my wife and I were all alone without friends support as Victorians were asked to isolate at home for a while due to the active cases.
But thankfully we went through the tough moments all right and in fact, had some of the greatest moments with just the three of us as family.
This year, I’d love to thank all Mums out there who’ve been going through the same tough times and hoping that they’ll be showered with gifts of love from their loved ones! So let’s get started with the Mother’s Day tech gift guide this year!
Mums need to have a good exercise for her health and well-beings. There’s no better gifts than a fitness tracker to keep her motivated like the Fitbit Versa 3 or a more-classical-look Withings ScanWatch with ECG, heart rate monitor & oximeter.
If she is already wearing an Apple Watch or a Fitbit though, you might want to have a look at the recently-reviewed Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen that can analyse and improve her sleep using radar technology.
To accompany her when she’s exercising, there are a few earphones I’d recommend. The best of the best is the Jabra Elite 85t with amazing sound and sets of features, including ANC. If she has an OPPO phone though, grab the OPPO Enco W51 instead and if she has a HUAWEI phone, grab the HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro for seamless connection and integration.
If you are looking to give your Mum the ultimate satisfaction in music listening though, we’ll soon test out the MOMENTUM 3 WIRELESS from Sennheiser. It has ANC, Transparent Hearing, Bluetooth 5 support, 17 hours of battery life, and has a smart TILE technology so she’ll never lose it ever.
Is your Mum a great cook? She’d appreciate the new Amazon Echo Show 10 with its large display that can track where she is and follow her around. This time, she can watch her favourite show while cooking or even make video calls while she’s walking around the kitchen bench. Super useful and there is a $50 off promotion from 29th April – 19th May at Amazon.
Speaking of cooking, we’re still in love with our Philips Airfryer XXL that we use to cook lots of things and it’s also very handy to heat up fried food and make them as crispy as before.
Everybody wants a Dyson (at least, people that I know of). Dyson V11 cordless vacuum cleaner is one of the best (though the new V15 Detect is around the corner) – which I use here at home. My wife, on the other hand, is very happy with her Dyson AirWrap that she uses to dry and style her hair. Every Mum will show her brightest smile if you buy her a Dyson product.
The Braun Silk Expert Pro 5 IPL also makes a fine gift if you are looking for other non-Dyson, premium beauty devices. It’s an IPL (Intense Pulse Light) device for permanent hair reduction at the comfort of home. It automatically and continuously adapts to her skin tone for optimal balance between efficacy and safety.
If you think she’d like an upgrade in the oral hygiene department, make sure to check out Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 9000 and Oral-B iO Series 9 too. I’m sure she’ll love the new toothbrush but more importantly, she’ll have healthier teeth and gums! And if she doesn’t need a new toothbrush, don’t forget about the water flosser as well. Flossing is as important and Waterpick Cordless Select that I’ll be reviewing is a great start! If she needs both, then definitely have a look at the Waterpik Sonic-Fusion that is both a water flossing machine and an electric toothbrush combo.
I’m also still reviewing this magical, amazing device called Cricut Joy. It’s a joy (pun intended) to use to create innovative artwork for events or even just for making simple (yet cool-looking) greeting cards. My wife is an event stylist (at Michabel Events) and she’s currently creating many decoration artwork with the Cricut Joy for her upcoming sister’s wedding in a couple of weeks.
The review is still ongoing but my wife already called this “the most amazing thing she’s ever encountered” for styling and decoration purposes.
But let’s not forget our gamer Mums! I’m a gamer Dad myself and thankfully, still can find a time to play games when Bubba goes to sleep.
For a new gaming mouse, the Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro performs really good but if she has smaller hands, definitely have a look at the Logitech G PRO X Superlight wireless gaming mouse that I’m still reviewing, or the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless.
For a new gaming keyboard, the SteelSeries Apex PRO has the nicest switches for typing and full customisations. The recently reviewed CORSAIR K100 RGB with Optical-Mechanical switches isn’t bad either and it has the fastest 4,000Hz polling rate on a gaming keyboard at the moment.
For a new gaming headset, there are plenty in the department. Depending on budget and style preferences, definitely have a look at the HyperX Cloud II Wireless, Razer BlackShark V2 Pro, and Logitech G Pro X Wireless headset.
Happy Mother’s Day 2021!
