OPPO is completing its ecosystem by launching the OPPO Watch and Enco earphones

Most brands want to tie you to their “ecosystem”, which usually starts the moment you purchase their smartphone. Devices like wearables, audio, accessories are just some examples within the ecoystem where everything ties together and inter-connected.

Once you are tied to an ecosystem, you don’t normally want to choose the other because you want everything to work together in tandem and seamlessly with one another. We see this approach with Apple and Huawei (check out my Huawei Share article).

If you are an OPPO phone owner, the latest news is that OPPO has now launched their own smartwatch and earphones range so you can “complete the set”. This is definitely good news for you OPPO fans out there.

OPPO Watch

The OPPO Watch series includes a 46mm OPPO Watch (RRP AU$549) and a 41mm version (RRP AU$449) which will be hitting stores at the end of this month, on the 29th of September.

The 46mm version of OPPO Watch has an innovative design with what OPPO called a 3D flexible hyperboloid display which features an 1.91-inch AMOLED screen with a 72.76% screen-to-body ratio, 402 x 476 resolution, and 326ppi.

OPPO has included its VOOC Flash Charging technology (usually on their smartphone) to shorten charging time and OPPO’s own Dual-Chip Endurance System for a longer battery life. The idea is that the Dual-Chip Endurance System will switch between the Snapdragon and Apollo chip depending on the power usage. According to OPPO, the watch can reach a 36-hour use time in Smart Mode and a whopping 21 days in Power Saver Mode, all within a single charge.

The watch has heart rate and sleep monitoring, along with multiple sensors for exercises. It is also water resistant of up to 50 meters for the 46mm and up to 30 meters for the 41mm version.

The OPPO Watch Series is powered by Wear OS from Google and features a custom user interface based on the inspiration from OPPO’s smartphone ColorOS. Speaking of which, ColorOS 11 public beta is coming this month too, which is based on the recently launched Android 11.

OPPO Enco

The “flagship” earphones is definitely the Enco W51, which has ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) and advanced noise reduction technology for both calls and music listening, along with wireless charging. It is also IP54 rated.
