OPPO Find X9 Series launches in Australia with 200MP Hasselblad Telephoto and massive battery life

OPPO has announced the global launch of its latest flagship smartphones, the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, bringing what the company calls a new benchmark in mobile imaging and design. Australian consumers can get their hands on both models from tomorrow (6 November), marking an expansion of OPPO’s premium lineup in the local market.

The Find X9 Series combines a camera system developed with Hasselblad, substantial battery capacity, and the latest ColorOS 16 operating system. Both models will be available through JB Hi-Fi and OPPO’s online store, with pricing starting at A$1,799 for the standard Find X9 and A$2,299 for the Pro variant.

Camera System Breakdown

The Find X9 Series introduces an updated Hasselblad Master Camera System across both models, though the Pro version receives notable upgrades. The standard Find X9 comes equipped with three 50MP cameras: a main sensor using Sony’s LYT-808 (1/1.4-inch) with f/1.6 aperture, an ultra-wide camera with autofocus capability for macro work, and a periscope telephoto camera with Sony’s LYT600 sensor (1/1.95-inch). OPPO has also included what it describes as an industry-first True Colour Camera to complement the three main sensors.

The Find X9 Pro steps things up with two key improvements. The main camera features a customised 1/1.28-inch Sony LYT 828 sensor that uses Real-Time Triple Exposure technology for improved dynamic range in challenging lighting conditions. The more significant upgrade comes in the telephoto department, where OPPO has fitted a 200MP Hasselblad Telephoto camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor and 3x optical zoom. This camera uses a Hasselblad-certified lens with an f/2.1 aperture and can focus as close as 10cm for macro photography. OPPO claims its Active Optical Alignment process increases resolution by 15% through precise lens-to-sensor matching.

Video capabilities include 4K 120fps Dolby Vision HDR recording on the main camera for both models, with the Find X9 Pro extending this to its 200MP telephoto camera as well. Professional users can record in LOG format with ACES certification for colour grading workflows.

For those wanting even more reach, OPPO is offering the Hasselblad Teleconverter as an optional accessory exclusively for the Find X9 Pro. This optical attachment transforms the phone into a 10x optical zoom system, enabling up to 200x digital zoom for stills and 50x for video. The Teleconverter Kit will retail for A$699 through OPPO’s online store only.

Battery and Performance

Both phones run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset, built on a 3nm process. Battery capacity reaches 7025mAh in the Find X9 and 7500mAh in the Find X9 Pro, which are substantial figures for flagship smartphones. Charging speeds include 80W wired SUPERVOOC and 50W wireless AIRVOOC, plus 10W reverse wireless charging. OPPO’s third-generation silicon-carbon battery technology is designed to maintain over 80% capacity after five years of regular use.

Design and Display

The series adopts a flat-edged design with 1.15mm symmetrical bezels and matte glass finish. Display sizes differ between models: the Find X9 features a 6.59-inch screen while the Find X9 Pro has a 6.78-inch panel. Both run at 120Hz refresh rates and peak brightness reaches 3600 nits for outdoor visibility. The phones carry IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Software

ColorOS 16 brings OPPO’s Luminous Rendering Engine for interface smoothness, along with AI features including AI Mind Space, AI Recorder, and O+ Connect for cross-device file management and remote control of Mac or PC systems directly from the phone.
