Dreame has launched its new Pocket Cake High-Speed Hair Dryer in Australia, offering a compact and lightweight alternative to traditional hair dryers without sacrificing the performance you would expect from a high-speed model. Priced at A$299, the new hair dryer combines powerful airflow, intelligent temperature control and a foldable design that makes it particularly appealing to frequent travellers.
Following the company’s earlier Pocket hair dryer, the Pocket Cake takes a similar approach to portability but introduces a more playful design with four macaron-inspired colours. It’s designed for those who want a capable hair dryer that doesn’t take up too much space in their luggage, gym bag or even bathroom drawer.
At the heart of the Dreame Pocket Cake is a 110,000RPM brushless motor, capable of generating airflow speeds of up to 70 metres per second. According to Dreame, this allows the hair dryer to deliver faster drying performance despite its smaller size.
There’s also an intelligent NTC temperature control system that monitors the temperature 500 times per second. The system automatically adjusts the heat output to maintain a more consistent temperature, helping to reduce excessive heat exposure during drying. This should be particularly useful for those who regularly use a hair dryer and want to minimise unnecessary heat damage to their hair.
The Pocket Cake also incorporates negative ion technology, generating up to 350 million negative ions per cubic centimetre. Dreame claims this helps reduce static and flyaways, leaving hair looking smoother after drying and styling.
The hair dryer features a 180-degree folding mechanism that allows it to transform into a compact, phone-sized shape for storage. This makes it much easier to pack compared to conventional hair dryers, which can be awkward to fit into smaller bags.
The main unit weighs just 300 grams according to Dreame’s specifications, while the company describes the complete product as weighing less than 450 grams. Combined with its folding design, the Pocket Cake could be a practical option for travellers who prefer bringing their own hair dryer rather than relying on whatever is available at their accommodation.
Dreame has also paid attention to the dryer’s appearance. Rather than sticking to traditional black or white finishes, the Pocket Cake is available in four colours inspired by macarons and desserts. These include Lemon Parfait in bright yellow, Peach Mochi in soft peach-pink, Grape Mousse in lavender and Tiramisu in a warm brown finish.
The Dreame Pocket Cake High-Speed Hair Dryer is available now in Australia for A$299 RRP through Dreame Australia, Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi. In-store availability at Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi is expected from mid-November 2026.
