The Ceptics 140W Universal Travel Adapter combines worldwide plug compatibility with powerful USB-C charging, making it a practical travel accessory for those who regularly travel overseas with laptops, smartphones, and other electronic devices.
If you travel frequently, you’ll know how annoying it can be to carry different power adapters for different countries. Then there’s the additional problem of having multiple devices to charge, which usually means packing separate charging bricks or fighting over the limited power outlets next to your bed in a hotel room.
This is where the Ceptics 140W Universal Travel Adapter comes in handy. With support for plug types used in over 200 countries, three USB-C ports, a USB-A port, and up to 140W USB-C charging, it promises to simplify your charging setup while travelling.

The adapter comes with a spare replaceable fuse. Hopefully, you’ll never actually need to use it, but having one available is reassuring, especially when you’re travelling overseas and may not have easy access to replacement parts.
Ceptics 140W Universal Travel Adapter Review – Design and Features

I quite like the overall dark appearance of the Ceptics 140W Universal Travel Adapter. There are small captions and markings on the adapter to indicate the different plug types and controls. These are admittedly quite small and can be a little difficult to read in a dimly lit room, but I don’t think this is a major concern. Once you understand how the adapter works, you barely need to refer to them anyway.
The adapter supports Type A, C, G, and I plug configurations, covering popular destinations such as Australia, Indonesia, the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom. You simply slide out the appropriate plug depending on which country you’re visiting. In my case, I’ve been constantly travelling between Australia, which uses Type I plugs, and Indonesia, which commonly uses Type C and F sockets. Switching between the two configurations has been easy and straightforward, without any issues.
That said, I’ve reviewed quite a few universal travel adapters over the years, and their basic mechanisms are usually pretty similar. The Ceptics doesn’t do anything particularly different here, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The design is familiar, easy to operate, and does what it needs to do.
There are also two AC sockets, consisting of a universal socket and a separate socket for US/Japanese plugs. Combined with the four USB ports, you can connect up to six devices simultaneously, subject to the adapter’s power limits.
One thing worth remembering is that this is a travel adapter, not a voltage converter. While most modern laptop and smartphone chargers support worldwide voltage inputs, you should always check your appliance’s voltage requirements before plugging it in overseas. In case you forget.. well, that spare fuse would come in handy.
Ceptics 140W Universal Travel Adapter Review – Charging Performance

The biggest selling point of the Ceptics 140W Universal Travel Adapter, at least for me, is its USB-C charging capability. It features three USB-C ports and one USB-A port, which is a useful combination considering how many modern devices now rely on USB-C. I appreciate that Ceptics has retained a USB-A port for older devices and accessories that haven’t made the transition to USB-C yet. Backward compatibility is always welcome, especially when travelling with a mixture of newer and older gadgets.
More importantly, the adapter supports up to 140W output through either of its two main USB-C ports when used individually. This is considerably more powerful than the basic USB charging ports found on many traditional travel adapters.
Apple’s 16-inch MacBook Pro models support 140W fast charging, so this adapter has the necessary power output for compatible models when used with the appropriate charging cable and a single main USB-C port.
Of course, you don’t necessarily need a power-hungry laptop to appreciate the extra charging capacity. Even if you’re only charging a smartphone, tablet, or other USB-C devices, having multiple charging ports available in one adapter is convenient. You can also charge multiple devices simultaneously, although it’s important to understand that the available power is shared between the ports.
For example, when using the two main USB-C ports together, the adapter can provide up to 100W and 35W respectively, for a combined 135W. If you use all four USB ports simultaneously, the maximum combined output drops to 112W, distributed between the ports. In other words, you won’t get 140W from one USB-C port while charging several other devices at the same time.
This is fairly typical of multi-port chargers, but it’s something worth keeping in mind if you plan to charge a laptop and several other devices simultaneously. Your laptop might not receive the maximum charging power depending on which ports are being used. Still, I find this arrangement practical for travelling. Rather than packing multiple chargers, you can connect several devices to the same adapter and let it distribute the available charging power.
Ceptics 140W Universal Travel Adapter Review Conclusion

The Ceptics 140W Universal Travel Adapter is a practical accessory for frequent travellers, especially those who regularly bring a laptop, smartphone, and several other electronic devices overseas.
Its universal plug mechanism isn’t particularly different from other travel adapters I’ve reviewed, but I don’t really see that as a disadvantage. It’s easy to use, and switching between Australian and Indonesian plug configurations has been straightforward in my experience.
Having up to 140W available from a single USB-C port means it can charge compatible laptops, including power-hungry models, without requiring a separate USB-C charger. The three USB-C ports and additional USB-A port also provide a good balance between modern connectivity and support for older devices.
If you only travel occasionally and need to charge a smartphone, a simpler and cheaper travel adapter might be sufficient. But if you’re a frequent traveller who carries several electronic devices, including a laptop, the Ceptics 140W Universal Travel Adapter offers a convenient way to keep everything powered with fewer chargers in your luggage. Plus, you can plug an extra appliance or charger into its universal input socket.
