Edifier R1280DB Bluetooth Bookshelf Speakers arrive at Officeworks nationwide

Edifier’s R1280DB Bluetooth Bookshelf Speakers have just landed in over 170 Officeworks stores across Australia, bringing studio-quality audio and modern connectivity to the brand’s best-selling speaker model. At $199, these updated bookshelf speakers manage to balance classic design with the flexibility today’s setups demand.

We’ve reviewed some Edifier speakers in the past and they have been solid in terms of quality and sound.

The R1280 series has been Edifier’s top performer in Australia for good reason. This DB variant takes everything people loved about the original and adds digital optical and coaxial inputs alongside Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The result is a speaker system that works with practically any source you throw at it, from gaming consoles and DVD players to smartphones and tablets.

Each speaker cabinet houses a 4-inch bass woofer paired with 13mm silk dome tweeters, delivering 42W of continuous undistorted power. The frequency response has been widened compared to previous models, which translates to better detail across the entire sound spectrum. Crisp highs come through without harshness, mids have presence, and bass hits with enough punch to fill the room without overwhelming smaller spaces.

The wooden grain finish comes in three options: classic brown, black, or a more contemporary silver white. These aren’t trying to disappear into your décor but rather complement it, whether you’re setting them up in a lounge room, home office, or dedicated entertainment space. The clean aesthetic works because Edifier has tucked the bass and treble controls onto the side panel, keeping the front face uncluttered.

These speakers are available now at Officeworks for A$199.99.
