Overwatch 2 Season 3 starts tomorrow (8 Feb AEST)

Overwatch 2 Season 2 is coming to a close (ugh, I still need those 40,000 more XPs to get the ‘Demigod’ title) and Overwatch 2 players will be greeted with the all new updates and balance changes in Season 3 tomorrow.

There is a new Antarctic Peninsula Control map with Penguins and a small pond that you can shoot fishes out, a Mythic Kiriko skin that looks pretty sleek, a new Asian Mythology theme with skins to purchase, earning Overwatch credits again by playing like Overwatch 1, and more!

Amaterasu Kiriko’s mythic skin concept comes from Asian Mythology (Japan, to be exact) and as before, there are customisations you can mix and match.

There are theme headpieces for Kiriko and even a new look for her spirit fox.

And now, you can earn up to 1500 Overwatch Credits just by playing the game (this is not Coins, unfortunately). If you have the Premium Battle Pass, you can also grab an extra 500 credits throughout the Battle Pass tiers. These credits can be used to purchase Legendary skins (which prices have also been lowered from 1900 to 1500 Credits).

As for events, there will be Ultimate Valentine’s (Feb 14-28), PachiMarchi, and One-Punch Man Collab (March 7 – April 6) events where you can also earn some cosmetic rewards in game. The Ultimate Valentine event will be live with two earnable Epic Skins and other rewards. There is also a dating simulation, Loverwatch (Feb. 13-28), where you can earn a new POTG highlight! Loverwatch will later be available on its own domain Loverwatch.gg and playable through a web browser (playable until the 28th of Feb).

If you’ve watched Japanese Anime “One-Punch Man” (March 7 – April 6), this is the first major IP collaboration for Overwatch 2 and you can earn One-Punch Man skins and cosmetics in Overwatch 2. Expect for more collaboration with other IPs in the future!

And lastly, you can now earn that Epic Pachimari Roadhog’s cute skin that you may have seen in game (which was from Overwatch 1) through the PachiMarchi event.

But the biggest update of all in my opinion, is the long list of balance patches and changes and some are pretty impactful for Brigitte, Mercy, Cassidy, Junker Queen, etc. All changes including buffs and nerfs can be read on the official patch notes announcement.

There are still tons of updates such as the Competitive Matchmaking, Custom Game Mode, and more. Make sure to check the official Overwatch 2 Season 3 page for more.
