It’s been rumored for years that the Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus will be launching an Android tablet, and fast forward to 2023 now it’s expected that the brand will launch their Android tablet known as OnePlus Pad on their OnePlus Launch event Feb 7, it expected that the brand will unveil the next-gen Oneplus 11 along with the OnePlus Pad.

But ahead of the event, we have been constantly receiving the specifications and features of the OnePlus Pad, I wanted to share them with you, so let’s discuss the leaked specifications and features of the OnePlus Pad one by one.

One of the dependable leakers Evan Blass has surfaced with a picture of the next Android tablet in all its splendor. Up to and including the distinctive “Halo Green” color scheme.

OnePlus Pad: Specifications and Features

The OnePlus Pad should be among the greatest Android tablets available thanks to a list of stats that leaker Digital Chat Station claims to have obtained. The 11.6-inch screen will reportedly have a 2K LCD resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz, which is smoother than the 120Hz OLED screens offered by the 11-inch iPad Pro and Samsung Galaxy Tab S8.

The rear camera system would reportedly have a circular notch and a high-end design on the OnePlus Pad. In the center of the vertical edge will be placed a single rear camera. The tablet will allegedly feature a pen, though it doesn’t seem like it will be built in as the S Pen that comes with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8 will be. The front-facing camera will reportedly have an 8MP resolution.

According to the leaker, it will use the Dimensity 9000 processor rather than a Qualcomm equivalent, and either 8GB or 12GB of RAM. This may sound like a con but in recent years MediaTek Dimensity processors have been utilized by OnePlus in its most recent Nord smartphones, and performance has been good. In terms of the Dimensity 9000 particularly, several benchmarks show that it is nearly on par with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

It is difficult, in my opinion, to get into this market and compete with the iPad, which has dominated the tablet market for more than ten years and offers a variety of tablets at different price points. On the other hand, it creates a chance for OnePlus to disrupt the industry as the only two major participants in the Android tablet market are Samsung and Amazon. Nevertheless, the OnePlus Watch’s disappointing performance should serve as a warning in this instance.

In addition, I notice that the left side looks to have some sort of hollow, presumably for a supported stylus, while the right edge will house the volume rockers. Because neither the company nor the leaks have offered much specifics, we must wait until the launch event to discover more about the OnePlus Pad’s characteristics and functions.

OnePlus Pad will feature a magnetic keyboard and stylus, OnePlus Confirms

Additionally, the official teaser shows a white stylus that looks much like the Apple Pencil and a magnetic keyboard with a trackpad, both of which buyers will probably have to purchase separately. The OnePlus Stylo (stylus) and magnetic keyboard can be used to control the OnePlus Pad tablet.

Users may purchase the tablet’s magnetic keyboard in green, according to OnePlus, who announced this in a separate post on its social media accounts. The two-piece OnePlus keyboard has a similar appearance to Apple’s magic keypad folio. It most likely comes with a removable keyboard and a rear cover that magnetizes to the tablet.

In order to expand the versatility of the OnePlus tablet, the company offers customers the opportunity to purchase Bluetooth-enabled keyboards and styluses to boost productivity, particularly while generating content. In the meanwhile, it will boost their accessory sales.

OnePlus has also officially announced the arrival of the OnePlus 11 5G, OnePlus 11R, OnePlus Buds Pro 2 TWS earphones, and OnePlus TV 65 Q2 Pro in addition to the OnePlus Pad Android tablet.

The OnePlus 11 5G, which features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with Hasselblad-tuned cameras, will be the star of the February 7 launch event. Additionally, the phone will feature 100W quick charging. Even though it will include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus SoC, the OnePlus 11R will look similar to the OnePlus 11 in terms of appearance but the smartphone won’t feature Hasselblad cameras.

OnePlus Pad Pricing

A 9500 mAh battery, stylus compatibility, and 67 W charging are further features. However, it seems that the OnePlus Pad will only support WiFi. Pricing details for the OnePlus Pad are yet unknown, but considering that the basic price of the OPPO Pad, which was released in China last year, was about US$365 at the time, it wouldn’t be unexpected for the OnePlus Pad to have an MSRP of around US$500 at launch.

Wrapping it all

In conclusion, it’s clear that OnePlus is working on its own ecosystem similar to Apple and Samsung, but having an ecosystem is not a success if the actual products are worse, but according to leaks and on paper specifications, the forthcoming OnePlus products are great to compete with the high-end smartphones, but it is too early to decide. We have to wait and watch until the official launch.
