Huion Kamvas Pro 16 2.5K Review – I recently reviewed the Huion Inspiroy Giano, and I absolutely love that device. It’s lightweight, portable, practical, and opens up a world of opportunities for digital art creation. However, as a pen tablet, it got me wondering: what could be the next step up? Huion provided the answer with the Huion Kamvas Pro 16 2.5K—a pen display.
Here’s my two weeks review of me testing out the pen display Huion Kamvas pro 16 2.5K.
HUION KAMVAS PRO 16 2.5K REVIEW – PACKAGING CONTENTS
First off, Huion’s premium packaging is worth keeping, especially when you want to store the device away. The Kamvas Pro 16 2.5K sits in the mid-range of the Kamvas family, which offers various display sizes: 13, 16, 19, 24, and 27 inches.
Speaking of size, the Kamvas Pro 16 2.5K strikes a balance—it’s not too small and not too large. Its overall dimensions are 436 x 247 mm (slightly wider by about 7 mm than the Inspiroy Giano), and it features an aluminium finish on the back with the Huion logo in the middle.
HUION KAMVAS PRO 16 2.5K REVIEW – DESIGN AND FEATURES
The Standout Feature - The Display Panel - 2.5K QHD resolution on 16 inch IPS display
Being a pen display, I am both writing and drawing on top of the display. I think this is the ultimate point why some people may want to get this pen display since it is easy to learn. I can see what I’m writing, it feels like WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get). I can control my stroke and thanks to Pentech 3.0, I can place my draw precisely where I want to draw. Huion Kamvas Pro 16 makes it better with higher pixel per inch and higher resolution 2560 x 1440 pixels in a 16 inch package.
In terms of colour specs, the Kamvas Pro 16 is more than sufficient for beginners and immediate digital art creation. It boasts 145% sRGB coverage, 16.7 million colours, and a 1200:1 contrast ratio—resulting in vibrant and realistic digital artwork.
Huion Kamvas Pro 16 panel comes with a laminated panel with several purposes such as anti glare, reduce reflection, maintain accuracy between pen nib and the cursor and most importantly, a texture feel on display surface that gives a drag sensation similar when I write on the paper.
PenTech 3.0 – the bread and the butter
Huion’s PenTech 3.0 is identical to what’s found in the Huion Inspiroy Giano. It offers a fast report rate and high pen resolution, ensuring responsive feedback regardless of how quickly I draw or write. With 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity, I can create faint lines, thick strokes, and everything in between.
Setup & Drawing Experience – Complete Experience Out of the box
Huion Kamvas Pro 16 and in fact, all Huion Kamvas family, provides all the necessary accessories, even the power cable extension and power brick. I love that they have this 3 in 2 cable that lets my desk cable arrangement neat on my desk.
But the ultimate inclusion? The adjustable stand. It turns Kamvas Pro 16 into a proper drawing canvas, allowing me to find the perfect angle for comfortable drawing. Good posture makes digital art enjoyable, and this sturdy stand offers angles of 14.5, 19.5, 22.5, 37, 41.5, or 45 degrees.
I find that installation is pretty straightforward thanks to the supplied cables. I then visited Huion website to download the driver and voila! Huion Kamvas Pro 16 is ready to use.
The tablet features six programmable shortcut buttons, easily configured through the Huion software. I can also adjust the pen pressure sensitivity to my liking.
Huion Kamvas Pro 16 supports multiple operating systems such as Windows, MacOS, Android and Linux. As for the drawing software support, Huion supports Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Painter, SAI, GIMP, Clip Studio and Krita. I’m using Krita to test and review Huion Kamvas PRO 16. So far, my testimony in using Huion Kamvas PRO 16 with Krita is excellent and I haven’t found any issues so far.
