HONOR has officially arrived in Australia, bringing two advanced smartphones that showcase the brand’s commitment to AI innovation and cutting-edge hardware. The launch introduces the HONOR Magic V5, currently the world’s thinnest inward-folding smartphone, alongside the HONOR 400 Pro, which packs powerful AI photo editing capabilities for everyday users.
The move marks HONOR’s entry into the Australian market with serious ambition. Backed by the HONOR ALPHA PLAN, the company is investing USD 10 billion over the next five years in AI and device research and development, platform and software development, and open ecosystem programs. The HONOR Magic V5 and HONOR 400 Pro represent the first wave of this strategy, delivering on-device AI creation and imaging, silicon-carbon battery technology, and MagicOS with Google Gemini support built in.
HONOR Magic V5: Ultra-Slim Foldable with Premium Performance
The HONOR Magic V5 measures just 8.8mm thin, making it the slimmest inward-folding smartphone available worldwide. Despite the compact profile, HONOR hasn’t compromised on battery capacity, durability, or camera performance, offering Australians a foldable phone that balances portability with all-day reliability.
The device houses an ultra-high 5820mAh battery powered by advanced silicon-carbon battery technology with 15% silicon content. This ensures outstanding longevity without adding unnecessary bulk to the device, addressing one of the common concerns with foldable phones.
Running MagicOS 10, the HONOR Magic V5 comes pre-installed with Google Gemini, providing users with an intelligent AI assistant for writing and learning support, task organisation, and real-time camera and screen-sharing assistance via Gemini Live.
The expansive 7.95-inch inner display and 6.43-inch outer screen are both stylus-compatible, offering flexibility for note-taking, sketching, and precise interactions. Enhanced Multi-Flex Mode allows users to run up to three apps simultaneously, making it easy to review documents, join video calls, and browse online all within one view.
Photography capabilities are handled by the AI Falcon Camera System, which includes a 64MP Ultra Sensing Periscope Telephoto Camera, 50MP Ultra-Light Sensitive Main Camera, and 50MP Ultra-Wide Camera. Enhanced by the AI HONOR Image Engine, the HONOR Magic V5 enables features such as AI Enhanced Portrait, AI Super Zoom, and Motion Sensing Capture, allowing users to capture moments with clarity and creativity.
HONOR 400 Pro: On-Device AI for Everyday Creativity
The HONOR 400 Pro takes a different approach, focusing on advanced on-device intelligence to transform how users capture, create, and interact with their photos and videos. The built-in AI allows anyone to take professional-grade photos and instantly convert them into shareable video clips without needing third-party apps or editing expertise.
The phone introduces a comprehensive suite of AI editing tools designed for everyday moments. The HD Moving Photo feature preserves three seconds of vibrant live motion for effortless sharing and storytelling. Additional features include Moving Photo Collage, AI Eraser, AI Outpainting, and AI Remove Reflection, allowing users to enhance and refine photos with ease.
Powered by MagicOS 9.0, the HONOR 400 Pro delivers a smooth, intuitive Android experience with AI-driven features such as AI Translation, AI Recorder, Magic Portal, AI Minutes, AI Summary, AI Format, and Magic Capsule. Like the Magic V5, the HONOR 400 Pro supports Google’s Gemini for smart assistance across everyday tasks.
Battery performance is equally impressive, with a 5300mAh silicon-carbon battery providing up to 33 hours of voice calls, 27 hours of offline video, and 15 hours of online entertainment. Built for longevity, it retains over 80% battery health after four years and offers 512GB of storage for photos, videos, and apps.
Also launching in Australia is the HONOR Pad 10 tablet, offering a seamless productivity and entertainment experience, alongside the HONOR Watch 4 smartwatch and HONOR CHOICE Earbuds Clip wireless headphones.
