Apple has announced four different iPhone 12 today, and like last year, we also have the Pro models, i.e iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. However, this time, you actually get even better camera on the Pro Max. But the camera isn’t the only reason to get the iPhone 12 Pro though.
There are a few more to consider, but okay, they aren’t as big as the camera system difference.
4 Reasons you should get the iPhone 12 Pro/Pro Max, and not the iPhone 12
 Premium materials, more durability
The iPhone 12 Pro has more durable, surgical-grade stainless steel band and precision-milled back glass compared to the iPhone 12 aluminium and glass design.
Bigger display on the Max model
It may sound like a silly excuse, but if you do a lot of commuting via public transport, you are going to appreciate the iPhone 12 Pro Max 6.7″ bigger display while you are watching your favourite TV series or playing your games. And yes, 0.6″ makes a big difference.
Better camera system for taking photos and videos
This is definitely the main reason why Apple makes the Pro version of their iPhone – for the professionals (photography and videography). With Deep Fusion tech on all four cameras, Better Optical Zoom, Apple ProRAW (which combines the flexibility of RAW with the power of Apple’s computational photography), and HDR Video Recording with Dolby Vision, you get the best camera on the iPhone ever.
You can now record in 10-bit HDR recording which means you can capture over 700 million colours – all at 4K resolution, 60 fps. And you can also edit your Dolby Vision videos straight on your iPhone’s Photos app, including applying filters.
LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is a depth mapping technology and having the scanner inside the iPhone Pro will improve autofocus in low light scenes (both for taking photos and videos) and better Portrait photos even in Dark Mode.
The Pro Max has even better camera lenses and capabilities.
 The new, Pacific Blue colour
While the iPhone 12 also has a Blue colour, I find that the iPhone 12 Pro Pacific Blue looks so much more elegant. The iPhone 12 is more fun and striking, but I like the subtlety of the Pacific Blue. Thankfully, whether you are getting the iPhone 12 Blue or iPhone 12 Pro Pacific Blue, people will know that you are on the latest iPhone. This is because iPhone 11 has no Blue model.
