Swann launches EVO Wireless 2K security cameras with Battery and Solar power options

Swann has expanded its EVO wireless security range with two new 2K cameras that remove the complexity from home security setups. The Australian security company launched the EVO Wireless 2K Security Camera and EVO Wireless 2K Solar Security Camera on 24 September 2025, targeting homeowners who want professional-grade protection without the technical headaches or ongoing subscription costs.

Both cameras deliver 2K Quad HD video quality with a 120-degree viewing angle, designed to capture more detail across wider areas. The wireless setup means no pain of running cables, while the hub-free design eliminates the need for additional base stations or complicated network configurations.

The solar-powered model stands out with its self-sustaining power system. Just 45 minutes of direct sunlight generates enough energy for daily operation, making it particularly appealing for remote locations or areas where power access is limited (or when you just can’t be bothered having to recharge the battery every now and then). The battery-powered version offers the same wire-free convenience with a rechargeable power source – great for indoors or places where the sun doesn’t reach.

True Detect heat and motion sensing technology helps reduce false alarms by distinguishing between people, vehicles, and general movement. The cameras include infrared night vision extending up to 10 metres, two-way audio for real-time communication, and weatherproof IP56-rated construction for Australian conditions.

Local storage comes standard with included MicroSD cards – 32GB for the battery model and 16GB for the solar version. This eliminates ongoing subscription fees while keeping footage under the homeowner’s control through the Swann Security app.

The EVO Wireless 2K Security Camera retails for A$139.95, while the solar-powered version costs A$179.95. Both models are available through the Swann website and major Australian retailers including Bunnings Warehouse, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, and Officeworks.
