Overwatch 2 Season 19 brings Halloween Terror and new Stadium features

Blizzard’s Season 19 for Overwatch 2 is themed around the Haunted Masquerade event that runs from October 14 to November 3, 2025. The season brings a fresh Halloween game mode, returning seasonal favourites, and significant Stadium updates alongside new cosmetic content. And collaboration with One Punch Man.

In Haunted Masquerade mode, players can wear mystical masks that transform them into allied Heroes. Each mask grants specific buffs and abilities based on which Hero you’re impersonating, adding a layer of strategic experimentation to matches. Some masks unlock special synergy bonuses when paired with lore-connected Heroes, such as Reinhardt and Brigitte combining their shield abilities. Players will also find hidden treats scattered across maps for those curious enough to explore during matches.

Classic Halloween modes are making their return as well. Junkenstein’s Revenge reopens the gates of Adlersbrunn, pitting players against waves of zombie Omnics and Junkenstein’s army of bosses. The more narrative-focused Wrath of the Bride mode sends Sojourn, Junker Queen, Kiriko, and Ashe deep into Adlersbrunn to face boss encounters including Banshee Moira and Gargoyle Winston while navigating the haunted castle’s labyrinthine layout. I don’t see a reason to go back and re-play all of these again but if you’ve missed them in the past, this is a good chance.

Stadium mode receives substantial updates for Season 19. Three new heroes join the roster with Torbjorn, Hazard, and Sojourn now playable. Torbjorn can now deploy 3 turrets but at the expense of damage and maximum health – which is far when I play as and against him. I’m definitely seeing a lot more Hazard in the Stadium Competitive which brings a lot more variety to the tanks.

A new Control map called Busan Sanctuary arrives alongside seasonal rank resets and the All-Star Cassidy skin as the ranked reward. The Armory system has been overhanded with dedicated sub-tabs for Items and Builds, improved filtering options by type, rarity, stats, and cost, plus faster search functionality. An Advanced Info Panel now shows exactly how Items and Powers affect weapons and abilities with precise numerical data, removing guesswork from your build decisions.

Combat Text is another Stadium addition, displaying damage and healing numbers on screen in both first and third person views across all Stadium matches and the Practice Range. Players can customise the size, transparency, and data types shown, or disable it entirely based on preference. It feels weird when I encounter it at first, though the stats can be useful (if you have the time to actually look at them while shooting). It’s great that this can be disabled though for a more classic Overwatch experience.

Season 19 introduces Gadgets, a new category of active items available in Common, Rare, or Epic rarities. Each player selects one Gadget per match and activates it via customisable hotkey at crucial moments. Examples include Colossus Core for pushing through enemy lines, Kitsune Charm for removing negative effects, and Jet Skates for quick escapes. Gadgets require strategic resource management since they come at varying price points depending on rarity and can only be used once. This definitely reminds me like a toned-down version of DOTA 2’s Items.

The Premium Battle Pass features two Mythic Hero skins this season, starting a new pattern of offering two per season rather than one. Divine Druid Lifeweaver launches at the season’s start, with Cyber Fuel Junkrat arriving at midcycle. The Mythic Spirit Keeper Kiriko weapon skin also debuts at launch. Blizzard has restructured how Mythic customisation works starting this season. Previously, Mythic skins progressed through evolutionary tiers that gradually built up the complete look. Now, Tier 1 immediately unlocks the full Mythic skin design, with subsequent tiers adding alternate components, colourways, and ambient effect toggles for personalisation rather than progression.

The Spirit Keeper Kiriko weapon skin features kunai blazing with blue flame, unlocking reactive visuals, flourish animations, and a foxfire kill effect across four progression levels. Definitely a must have.

Legendary skins in the Premium Battle Pass include Oni Cassidy, Mermonster Wuyang, Vampire Moira, Ninja Sombra, and One-eyed Wilheim Reinhardt. Epic offerings feature Cursed Woods Echo, Cursed Teddy Zenyatta, and Cursed Candle Torbjorn, alongside 80 Mythic Prisms, Legendary Loot Boxes, emotes, coins, and credits. The Ultimate Battle Pass Bundle adds the Premium Pass, 20 Tier Skips, 2,000 Overwatch Coins, plus Vampire Kiriko and R-7K Preserver Ramattra Legendary skins.

Two limited-time Shop Collections arrive during the season. The Archangels collection runs October 14-27, featuring celestial-themed skins for Mercy, Freja, Genji, Baptiste, Pharah, and Sigma. The Spirits collection follows from October 28 to November 10 with folklore-inspired skins for Kiriko, Ashe, Reaper, Widowmaker, and Roadhog.

And whether you are a fan of One Punch Man or not, the collaboration also offers many nice cosmetics with Ashe’s Hellish Blizzard Highlight Intro being my favourite! It’s not Overwatch’s first collaboration as we see some great ones in the past like the Phantom Thieves from Persona 5, Street Fighter 6, LE SSERAFIM, and more.

If you haven’t been back to Overwatch 2, remember that Overwatch 2 is always free and you do not need to pay anything unless you really like the cosmetics and want to support the developers.
