The Immerse 2 Speaker is an ambitious all-in-one device that combines a powerful 50W speaker system with a Qi2 wireless charger and built-in powerbank. Priced at AUD $349.00, it’s positioning itself as more than just a Bluetooth speaker – it’s aiming to be a central hub for your home audio and charging needs.

Sprout Immerse 2 Review – Design and Features

The Immerse 2 has a premium feel to it. The 300x130x76mm dimensions make it substantial without being unwieldy, and the build quality is pretty good. The weight and footprint give it a reassuring stability on a surface, especially important when you’ve got your phone magnetically attached on top.

The design is clean and modern without trying too hard to be different. It’ll fit into most home aesthetics without looking out of place, whether that’s on a desk, kitchen counter, or bedside table.

The Immerse 2 packs a serious audio punch with its 50W output. Inside the 2.6kg enclosure, you’ll find two 70mm drivers handling the mid-range and bass, paired with two 25mm tweeters for the highs. Dual passive radiators round out the setup, delivering deep, resonant bass that you can actually feel.

The speaker does take up some space on the desk, but it’s definitely worth the real estate considering how good it sounds. Vocals come through super clear and with high quality – you can pick out individual instruments and voices with impressive clarity. The bass has a warm character rather than being punchy and aggressive. It strikes a good balance to make sure the bass isn’t too overpowering, which is ideal for extended listening sessions and various music genres.

That said, it would be great to have a bass boost button for those times when you just want to make it super boomy. Some tracks and movie scenes could benefit from that extra low-end punch, and having the option would make the speaker even more versatile.

The Immerse 2 maintains its composure at higher volumes. Many portable speakers start to distort or lose clarity when you crank them up, but this one stays remarkably clean even when pushing towards higher volume.

According to Sprout, the Immerse 2 delivers up to 8 hours of playback at 50% volume when unplugged from mains power. That’s a solid runtime for a speaker of this power output, perfect for an afternoon gathering or a full day’s background music without needing to hunt for a power outlet. So yes, this is a Bluetooth portable speaker too in a sense. Having a party? Just unplug this speaker and carry it over.

LED indicators on the speaker show how much battery is left, displaying up to four levels. Apart from battery life remaining, these indicators also show other information like when the speaker is in Bluetooth pairing mode, giving you clear visual feedback about what’s happening.

The 2-hour fast recharge is another practical feature. Unlike some portable speakers that take half a day to fully charge, you can have the Immerse 2 ready to go in the time it takes to watch a film or for a surprise. At 2.6kg, it’s got some heft to it, but that weight contributes to the solid build quality and stable base when you’re using the wireless charging function (plus to contain all the good speaker drivers and tweeters within).

Here’s where the Immerse 2 gets interesting. There’s a 15W charging pad on the top of the speaker so you can place your phone there to charge while listening to your favourite playlists. The pad has a strong magnet, so your phone stays there firmly without any worry of it sliding off.

The Qi2 certification means precise magnetic alignment, making it fully MagSafe compatible with compatible iPhones and cases (I tested it with my new iPhone 17 Pro). The strong magnetic alignment is very useful – you’re not fumbling around trying to position your phone just right. It snaps into place exactly where it needs to be for optimal charging efficiency.

One thing to note: while the pad supports 15W charging, this gets reduced to between 5W and 8W when Bluetooth is in use. This is to make sure the speaker’s temperature stays at the right level, which is a sensible safety measure. It means your phone will charge more slowly during active listening, but it’ll still be topped up by the time you’re done.

The 37Wh powerbank (3 x 3.7V⎓3350mAh) built into the Immerse 2 means you’re essentially getting three products in one. At the back of the speaker, you’ll find a USB-C output port that can be used to charge another device with a USB-C charging cable. This 10W output gives you additional flexibility for devices that don’t support wireless charging or when you need to charge multiple devices simultaneously.

Having this functionality integrated into a speaker makes more sense than you might initially think. Your speaker is often sitting on a desk or bedside table anyway, so why not have it pull double duty as a charging station? It’s one less device cluttering your space and one less cable to manage. You’ve got enough capacity here to fully charge most smartphones multiple times or keep a tablet going throughout the day.

Place the Immerse 2 speaker on a bedside table and it serves as your charging station throughout the night and you can also fire up some easy-listening music before going to bed while reading your favourite book.

Connection is pretty straightforward through Bluetooth. Bluetooth 5.4 provides a stable, modern connection with good range and minimal dropouts. There’s also a 3.5mm aux port at the back, so you can plug older audio devices to this speaker for more versatility and compatibility. This is becoming increasingly rare on modern speakers but remains useful for certain setups or when you want to conserve battery.

The buttons are clearly marked with soft-touch interactivity, including volume controls and connectivity options. Media controls aren’t labelled in the traditional sense, but the functionality is there – you can do a long press of the “-” and “+” buttons to skip to the next or previous track. Double tapping the play/pause/answer button will also trigger your device’s smart assistant like Apple Siri.

The touch controls are responsive and well-placed, making them easy to find by feel when you’re adjusting volume without looking. They handle the basics well without overcomplicating things with unnecessary features.

The Immerse 2 supports UNISYNC technology, which allows you to connect up to 50 UNISYNC-compatible speakers. I don’t have another UNISYNC compatible speaker at home, but if you have them, they can be used together with the Immerse 2. While most people won’t be linking 50 speakers together, the ability to create a multi-room audio setup or enhance your outdoor gathering with paired speakers is practical for those who want to expand their system.

Sprout Immerse 2 Speaker Review Conclusion

Sprout Immerse 2 Speaker succeeds in its ambitious goal of being an all-in-one powerhouse. The combination of excellent 50W audio quality with clear vocals and warm bass, practical Qi2 wireless charging, and useful powerbank functionality creates a very versatile device. For AUD $349.00, you’re getting three quality products in one package, which represents decent value when you consider the alternative of buying a premium Bluetooth speaker, wireless charger, and powerbank separately.

The sound quality alone justifies serious consideration, but the added charging capabilities make this speaker particularly appealing for anyone looking to reduce desk or bedside clutter. The 24-month warranty provides peace of mind, and the UNISYNC compatibility offers room to expand your setup in the future.

It’s available for purchase through Telstra shop and retails at A$349.
