CORSAIR SABRE v2 PRO REVIEW – DESIGN AND QUALITY
At 36 grams, the SABRE v2 PRO is remarkably light. The moment you pick it up, you immediately notice how effortless it feels compared to standard gaming mice. The weight reduction is no gimmick and has a big impact on gameplay too. Swiping and gliding across my mouse mat feels noticeably easier, and lifting the mouse for repositioning requires minimal effort.
For gamers who play with lower DPI sensitivity and rely on continuous swiping motions, this mouse is perfect. The reduced weight means less fatigue during extended gaming sessions, and you can make those sweeping 180-degree turns or rapid flicks without your wrist giving up on you. If you’re a fingertip or claw grip player, the SABRE v2 PRO’s design and weight distribution feel natural and comfortable.
However, if you’re coming from a much heavier mouse, expect an adjustment period. The dramatic weight difference might feel strange at first, and you may need to re-adjust your DPI settings to compensate for the increased responsiveness. Give it a few sessions though, and you’ll likely wonder how you ever played with a heavier mouse. I, for example, would never ever go back to using a 100-gram mouse or heavier. Okay, I don’t think I’ve even wanted to play with over 60-70 grams weight of mouse.

Despite the ultralight construction, the SABRE v2 PRO doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy. The build quality is solid, and the mouse has been engineered with premium materials that deliver durability without sacrificing weight.
Even without applying the included grip tape, I find the mouse easy enough to grab and handle without feeling slippery. The surface texture provides adequate grip for most situations. That said, CORSAIR includes tailor-made 4-piece PU grip tape specifically designed for the SABRE v2 PRO. Adding this grip tape does add a bit of weight to the mouse, but given how light the SABRE v2 PRO already is, the extra weight is negligible and won’t meaningfully impact performance.
The mouse also comes with two sets of mouse skates. The original skates are designed for a lighter build and quicker glide, perfect for rapid movements. The included larger alternate skates prioritise glide control if you prefer more resistance. This flexibility lets you fine-tune the feel based on your mousepad and playstyle preferences.
The CORSAIR MARKSMAN S sensor is the heart of the SABRE v2 PRO, and it performs exceptionally well. With 99.7% resolution accuracy, true 33,000 DPI detection, 750 IPS speed, and 50G acceleration, this sensor delivers the precision you need for competitive FPS gaming.
In fast-paced games like Overwatch 2 (watch my gameplay clips with the mouse before the review conclusion), the sensor performs brilliantly for all kinds of actions – whether I’m tracking enemy movement or executing fast flicks. The sensor never loses its way during frantic gameplay, maintaining accurate tracking even during the most chaotic team fights. Playing aim-intensive heroes like Ashe and Cassidy, where precision matters significantly, the SABRE v2 PRO doesn’t disappoint at all.
Even though this is a wireless mouse, I’ve never encountered any latencies or disconnections during gameplay. The 2.4GHz wireless connection feels as responsive as a wired connection, which is exactly what you want from a competitive gaming mouse.

By default, the SABRE v2 PRO runs at a 1,000Hz polling rate, which provides responsive input for everyday play. For advanced performance, you can push it to 8,000Hz using the CORSAIR Web Hub. This delivers ultra-low latency with input updates every 0.125 milliseconds – eight times faster than standard polling. Note that this requires a beefier machine and will drain more battery life.
For optimal wireless signal quality, the mouse includes a dedicated receiver with clip. Placing the receiver closer to your mouse – such as on your desk or clipped to your mousepad – helps minimise interference and ensures consistent responsiveness, especially when using high polling rates.
Battery life is often a concern with wireless gaming mice, particularly ultralight models. The SABRE v2 PRO delivers up to 70 hours of gaming on a single charge when using 2.4GHz wireless at 1,000Hz polling rate. That’s enough to power through extended gaming sessions without constantly worrying about charging and to most casual gamers, 1,000Hz polling rate is good enough.
The mouse takes 90 minutes to fully charge and doesn’t have a quick-charge feature, so it’s worth plugging it in overnight or during breaks. The battery indicator provides visual feedback so you know when it’s time to charge.
Speaking of lighting, there’s no RGB backlighting on the SABRE v2 PRO. The only lighting is the battery indicator, which keeps the weight down and maximises battery life. For a competitive FPS mouse, this is a sensible trade-off that I’m totally fine with.
The clicks on the SABRE v2 PRO are crispy with good tactile and audio feedback. Each click feels satisfying and responsive, which matters during rapid-fire situations or when you need precise timing for abilities.
There’s no dedicated DPI switch button on this mouse, but you can easily assign one of the side buttons to switch DPI levels. Alternatively, you can use the built-in shortcut: press and hold the right mouse button and back button for 3 seconds to cycle through DPI stages. The scroll wheel LED blinks three times in the corresponding colour of the current DPI stage to confirm the change.

The SABRE v2 PRO uses the browser-based CORSAIR Web Hub for customisation rather than traditional software. This lightweight approach lets you customize DPI levels (100-33,000 DPI in 50 DPI steps), polling rate, lift-off distance, and button assignments without installing additional software. It’s great for tournament players who normally can’t install anything in the PC they are playing with.
You can also program macros and adjust other settings through the Web Hub. For a gaming mouse, having browser-based configuration is refreshingly simple and doesn’t clutter your system with another background application.
