CORSAIR has just dropped what they’re calling their lightest gaming mouse ever, and the numbers are pretty wild. The new SABRE v2 PRO Ultralight Wireless Gaming Mouse tips the scales at just 36 grams, making it a serious peripheral for professional esports athletes and competitive FPS players who need every advantage they can get as light as possible.
This isn’t just about cutting weight though. CORSAIR has packed in their latest tech including 8,000Hz polling rate that works in both wired and wireless modes, plus the new MARKSMAN S sensor delivering 33K DPI with what they claim is the highest resolution accuracy of any CORSAIR mouse to date. For competitive gamers where milliseconds matter, this is an excellent claim.
The mouse has already got some solid backing from professional players. Ryujehong mentioned the 8K polling rate and 36g weight combination makes everything easier, while Suruga Monkey pointed out how the lightweight design helps with quicker aiming and reactions. NQZ from paiN Gaming called it “ridiculously light and responsive” with everything feeling effortless during gameplay.
CORSAIR built this mouse specifically for competitive FPS gaming from scratch. At 36 grams, it handles everything from sweeping 180-degree turns to tight flick shots with the kind of precision you’d expect from a top-tier peripheral. The 8,000Hz hyper-polling rate delivers inputs up to eight times faster than your standard gaming mouse, keeping latency to an absolute minimum whether you’re using it wirelessly via 2.4GHz or plugged in.
Obviously, you’d need a high-end PC to be able to handle 8,000Hz but all this sounds really good.
The MARKSMAN S sensor pushes things to 33,000 DPI with 99.7% resolution accuracy, tracking up to 750 IPS and 50G acceleration. There’s also a dongle extender included to prevent any input drops from interference, which is crucial when you’re in the middle of an intense match.
Battery life sits at up to 70 hours when using 2.4GHz wireless with 1kHz polling rate so obviously the 8,000Hz is going to take a bigger chunk out of the battery life. The custom-tuned mechanical switches are rated for 100 million clicks, built to handle the punishment of daily training and high-intensity matches. CORSAIR also includes grip tape and alternate mouse skates so you can tune the glide, traction, and grip to match your preferences. Note that this would add a bit more weight into the mouse.
CORSAIR Web Hub handles all the customisation without needing to install extra software. You can personalise DPI settings, remap buttons, and assign macros directly through the web interface, keeping things simple and streamlined.
