Viofo A119 Mini 2 Dashcam Review

It’s undeniable that roads are becoming increasingly hectic, making dashcams more popular than ever. Whether you need it for just a surveillance whenever you park your car, or even a lifesaver on the road when something goes wrong. That’s why more dashcam companies are innovating and racing to create better yet affordable dashcams

Viofo A119 Mini 2 – 1 Inside The Box

Viofo, a well-known dashcam company, is launching a tiny yet powerful dashcam: the Viofo A119 Mini 2. With the dimension 1.81 inch x 2.93 inch x 1.63 inch, this dashcam can be easily mounted on the windshield without blocking or distracting the driver.

It is equipped with a 1.5-inch screen and Wi-Fi technology. This makes Viofo A119 Mini 2 easy to set up through the app or directly on the device. Features like voice recognition make it even more convenient for drivers to operate this dashcam without touching it while driving.

Some people said that the voice recognition is not that good and sometimes doesn’t work, but after doing some test, it turns out works well for me (probably because I never put music too loud in the car. It supports up to 10 voice commands, including “take photo”, “video start/stop”, “turn on/off audio”, “turn on/off screen”, “turn on/off Wi-Fi”, and “lock the video”.

Viofo A119 Mini 2 – 2 Daylight footage

The video quality is excellent, it supports up to 60 fps 2K Quad HD, so it’s crystal clear on the day or night recording. I am noticing that we could see every little detail, even in the dark. Thanks to the Sony STARVIS 2 Sensor, which eliminates common dashcam issues like blurry footage, this dashcam is producing a sharp image whenever we need to get a footage from our trip on the car. When it comes to low light Viofo A119 Mini 2 handled it well thanks to Super Night Vision 2.0 and High Dynamic Range (HDR) features. Although we only able to enjoy 30 fps 2K QHD when HDR is on, it somehow provides better quality for reading license plates at night. That’s interesting!

As you can see in the footage, this dashcam is equipped with GPS that tracks speed and location. Also G-sensor that really helpful to save the clips during collision! It features loop recording, so you’ll never run out of space. However, the microSD card is sold separately and supports up to 512GB in capacity. Considering the price, Viofo A119 Mini 2 is really a steal! It competes toe to toe with the pricier dashcam on the market.

It supports some cool accessories that we can get on the Viofo website such as hard wire kit to make this small dashcam our little spy when we left our car on the parking lot; or a CPL (Circular Polarizing Lens) to protect the lens from finger prints, scratches, it also reduce reflections and glare from glass or other shiny surfaces, it works the same way as a polarized sunglasses; and Bluetooth remote to save important videos with just one click away, and we can put this Bluetooth remote wherever handy.

So, I highly recommend the Viofo A119 Mini 2 for anyone looking to enhance their road safety without breaking the bank!
