Logitech has launched the MX Master 4, the latest addition to their popular MX Master lineup that’s been a go-to choice for creative professionals and business users for years (check my review on the previous MX Master 3). This time around, the focus is on haptic feedback technology and workflow optimisation through new software features designed to speed up repetitive tasks.
There is a new addition of customisable haptic feedback, making this the first MX mouse to incorporate tactile vibrations for scrolling, navigation and selection. For professionals working in video editing, design or data analysis, this adds another layer of precision when working through detailed projects. The haptic response can be customised through Logitech’s software to match your preferences.
Logitech has also introduced the Actions Ring, a digital overlay that works through the Logi Options+ software. This feature gives you quick access to app-specific shortcuts and customisable controls without needing to navigate across your screen constantly. According to Logitech’s data, this can reduce repetitive mouse movements by up to 63 percent and save users around 33 percent of their time when performing routine tasks. Whether you’re assigning commands in Photoshop or automating functions in Excel, the Actions Ring puts frequently used tools right at your fingertips.
Connectivity has been upgraded as well, with Logitech claiming twice the connection strength compared to previous MX Master models. This comes from a high-performance chip and optimised antenna placement. The new USB-C dongle ensures reliable pairing across laptops, desktops and tablets, which should help eliminate those annoying connection drops during work.
The MX Master 4 also features improved materials with stain-resistant coating and a more durable build that’s easier to maintain over time. For business users, there’s the MX Master 4 for Business variant that includes simplified deployment options and remote monitoring through Logitech Sync, making life easier for IT teams managing devices across an organisation. The Logi Bolt connection provides stable performance even in busy office environments where wireless interference can be an issue.
On the sustainability front, Logitech has incorporated at least 48 percent certified post-consumer recycled plastic into the design, along with a low-carbon aluminium thumbwheel and a battery made with 100 percent recycled cobalt. The packaging uses FSC-certified materials, and the mouse has been designed for easier disassembly to improve recycling at end of life.
The technical specifications include the MagSpeed scroll wheel that can handle up to 1,000 lines per second, an 8,000 DPI sensor for precise tracking across virtually any surface including glass, and quieter clicks that reduce noise by 90 percent compared to the MX Master 3. USB-C quick charging gives you three hours of use from just a one-minute charge, while a full charge lasts up to 70 days. You can pair the mouse with up to three devices and switch between them using either the Actions Ring or the Easy-Switch buttons, with the ability to transfer files between devices through Logi Options+.
The Logitech MX Master 4 will be available in Graphite and Pale Grey colour options, while the MX Master 4 for Mac comes in White Silver. Both variants are priced at A$199.95, and each purchase includes a one-month complimentary membership to Adobe Creative Cloud with access to apps like Photoshop, Lightroom and Premiere Pro. The MX Master 4 for Business is available in Graphite for the same price through Logitech’s website and authorised resellers.
