Narwal Freo Z10 launches in Australia with industry-first Tangle-Free system and EdgeReach technology

Narwal brings its latest flagship robot vacuum to Australia this September, and the Freo Z10 packs some advancements that address two of the most common frustrations with robot vacuums: hair tangles and edge cleaning. The company has developed what they’re calling a complete tangle-free system alongside a triangular mop extension designed to reach those awkward corners and edges that typical round robot vacuums struggle with.

The tangle-free approach combines two key components working together. The Dynamic Anti-Tangle Side Brush automatically adjusts into an “I” shape during cleaning, which loosens hair before airflow directs it straight into the dust bin. Meanwhile, the Floating Zero-Tangle Main Brush uses a single-arm conical design that relies on aerodynamic principles to guide hair directly into the suction path. According to Narwal, this system achieves zero hair tangling whilst capturing 99.56% of hair, which should be welcome news for pet owners and anyone dealing with long hair around the house (ahem, wife).

The EdgeReach Mop Extension tackles another common complaint by extending outward during cleaning to reach baseboards and corners. The system maintains 8N of downward pressure on the floor and mimics hand-wiping motions, which helps remove stubborn stains that often get missed along edges. The robot’s navigation system allows it to retract the mop when approaching furniture, extend it outward around obstacles, and even move backward for additional corner coverage.

Beyond these headline features, the Freo Z10 includes 15,000Pa of suction power for deep cleaning performance. The base station handles self-emptying with a 2.5L dust bag that lasts up to 120 days, and it pre-dries waste to prevent residue buildup. There’s also AI Adaptive Hot-Water Mop Washing with temperature control ranging from 45-75°C for better hygiene during the cleaning cycle.

The base station operates at 71dB(A) during dust collection, which sits below the typical 80dB(A) industry average. For homes with carpet, the Freo Z10 automatically lifts its mop by 10mm and offers four different carpet cleaning modes. DirtSense technology detects heavily soiled areas and automatically adjusts cleaning intensity, while the HeyNarwal AI Voice Assistant integrates with Google, Alexa, and Siri for voice control.

Narwal has built its reputation on analysing household cleaning challenges and developing solutions that deliver practical results. The company currently serves 1.8 million households worldwide with over $200 million in annual sales, continuing to push innovation in the robot vacuum space.

The Narwal Freo Z10 is available now across Australia with a retail price of A$2,399, positioning it as a premium option for those looking for advanced automation in their cleaning routine. I’m still impressed with their Narwal Freo Z Ultra and still using it daily in our new house. It’s definitely one of the most impressive bots out there in the market.
