Beats has expanded its cable lineup with a new 3-metre USB-C to USB-C charging cable, addressing one of those everyday frustrations that anyone who’s ever been tethered to a wall socket will recognise. The extended length means you can actually use your device comfortably while it charges and you don’t have to be sitting or standing in an awkward position.
The new cable arrives in Beats’ signature colour range: Bolt Black, Surge Stone, Nitro Navy, and Rapid Red. It’s available to order now at apple.com for $44.95 AUD and will be rolling out across more than 50 countries worldwide.
Beats has put considerable effort into durability here. The cable features a tangle-free woven design with internal reinforcement to prevent the kind of fraying that typically happens at connection points after months of daily use. It supports ultra-fast charging up to 240 watts, which should handle everything from your smartphone to more power-hungry devices like laptops without breaking a sweat.
The company runs these cables through thousands of hours of testing during design and manufacturing, which is reassuring when you’re spending close to fifty dollars on what’s essentially a charging cable. Compatibility extends to all USB-C Apple and Android devices, covering charging, syncing, audio playback, CarPlay functionality, and data transfers.
The practical advantage of that 3-metre length becomes apparent in real-world scenarios. You’re no longer stuck hovering near the power outlet when your battery’s running low. Stream a series, listen to lossless audio, or take a work call while your device charges, all without being confined to that awkward spot right next to the wall.
For optimal charging performance, Beats recommends pairing the USB-C cable with a USB-C power adapter when charging compatible iPhones or other devices from a wall outlet. Worth noting that the power adapter isn’t included in the box.
The current Beats cable portfolio now includes multiple options across different connector types and lengths. The USB-C to USB-C range spans from a compact 20cm version up to the new 3-metre option, with 1.5-metre singles and twin-packs sitting in between. USB-A to USB-C and USB-C to Lightning variants are also available in select lengths, all offered in Beats’ electric colour palette, though colour availability varies depending on the specific cable configuration you’re after.
The 3-metre USB-C to USB-C cable is available now through apple.com and authorised Beats retailers across Australia, with pricing set at $44.95 AUD for those wanting that extra reach without compromising on charging speed or build quality.
