With Nokia being brought in by Microsoft some time ago, the public are speculating the time for BlackBerry to be acquired by someone else as well (when and who). Before that happens, though (if it ever happens), an official press release today from BlackBerry tells us of the coming BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) to Android on September 21 and iOS on September 22.
Not long, folks!
To be exact, it will be available for Android smartphones and the iPhone. It’s unclear at the moment whether it will be coming to a tablet such as the iPad, but for now, this should make everyone happy.
I do wonder what’s going to happen once BBM is released to Android phones and iPhones. I know a few friends who are itching to ditch their BlackBerry phones but can’t, because they use the BBM too much.
With this news, I’m sure many will go from using a BlackBerry phone to either an iPhone 5 (or the new iPhone 5s) or the latest Android phone like HTC One or Samsung GALAXY S4.
BlackBerry Z30
BlackBerry has also announced a day earlier of a new flagship phone, the Z30 with a gorgeous 5″ display, 1.7GHz processor with quad-core graphics, 25 hours of battery life (2880 mAh battery), and powered by BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2.
According to the press release:
The BlackBerry Z30 smartphone will roll out from select carriers and retailers around the world beginning next week in the UK and Middle East, and all other regions going into the holiday season

Anyways, what do you think of the move for BlackBerry releasing BlackBerry Messenger on Android and iOS? Is it a good one or a bad one?
