TCL announced TCL 20 R 5G smartphone at just an RRP of A$349

The new TCL 20 R 5G will be TCL’s 3rd 5G device with most affordable option to-date, delivering amazing 90Hz refresh rate display with 180Hz touch sampling rate, fast 5G speed, and a triple camera system. Oh, plus an expandable memory of up to 1TB.

It’s also surprising that at that price, the phone offers NFC functionality so you can use Google Pay on the phone to pay for stuff and just leave your wallet at home.

Ever since I’ve got my first TCL phone for the first time to review (the TCL 10 Pro), I’ve been amazed at their NXTVISION technology. The display is bright with vivid colours, and just looks and feels amazing without having to pay A$1,500-A$2,000. Plus, the low blue light protection is a must to those who tend to use their phone a lot.

NXTVISION is still here, thankfully, and complemented by a smooth 90Hz refresh rate with 180Hz touch sampling rate. Gaming will certainly feel so good on this phone.

TCL 20 R 5G features a 6.52-inch V-notch display with 90% screen-to-body ratio and a peak brightness of 500 nits.

The 13MP Triple Camera system has a dedicated 2MP depth lens and 2MP macro lens, and a 4,500mAh battery will deliver about 10 hours of video, 34 hours of talk time, and 210 hours of audio playback.

TCL 20 R 5G is available in two colours: Granite Grey and Lazurite Blue. You can purchase it for A$349 RRP at Harvey Norman, Vodafone, Officeworks & Mobileciti.

At that price, it looks like a really good offer especially when the TCL 20L+ is A$50 more expensive but does not feature 5G (though it seems to have a better camera – your choice).
