Razer releases 2 new products: the DeathStalker and Kraken!

Razer DeathStalker

At Gamescom 2012 this year, Razer announced 2 new sexy products: the Razer DeathStalker gaming keyboard (with an Ultimate variant) and also the Razer Kraken gaming headset (with a Pro variant).

Review units are expected early September so hopefully I’ll have the chance to review them for you here at Craving Tech. Below are the details for Razer DeathStalker and Razer Kraken.

Razer DeathStalker Ultimate

Razer DeathStalker Ultimate

The Razer DeathStalker Ultimate version features the Razer’s Switchblade User Interface. That is a customizable LCD trackpad and LED keypad combo (if you have seen the Razer Switchblade or SWTOR gaming keyboard’s photos and videos). This allows the DeathStalker to have a customisable control panel to bind apps, macros, and also display skills for particular games. For example, it can display your character’s abilities from MMORPG games like World of Warcraft (WoW) or StarWars: The Old Republic (SWTOR).

Each key can display any image so you can also place your Windows’ apps shortcuts onto the Switchblade UI in a cool, sexy manner.

The LCD panel can also display in-game information such as your DPS (Damage Per Second) or useful desktop information such as your songs playlists.

Other features include anti-ghosting keys (up to 10 in game mode) and Razer Synapse 2.0 powered. The keys are non-mechanical though so it’ll be interesting to find out how comfortable the keyboard is compared to the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate. The non-Ultimate version of Razer DeathStalker has the same features but minus the Swithblade UI.

Price: US $249.99 / EU €249.99
Availability: September 2012

Razer Kraken Pro

Razer Kraken Pro

Razer Kraken Pro is their new gaming headset (the non-Pro version is without the microphone) with a promise to be the most comfortable gaming headset ever created. Whether this holds true or not, we’ll have to wait for the reviews to come in. However, it is designed specifically to withstand crazy amount of gaming sessions and the team has focused mainly on the ergonomics and also weight to make sure that you can use it for hours of non-stop gaming (or music).

The Pro version is available in September 2012 (Worldwide), priced at $79.99 / EU €79.99 and the non-Pro version is available in September 2012 at Razerzone.com and October 2012 Worldwide, priced at U.S. $59.99 / EU €59.99.

With the Razer Ouroboros coming as well, looks like this end of year will make many hardcore Razer fans happy.
