OPPO Find X3 Neo Review – An affordable flagship phone with super smooth performance

OPPO Find X3 Neo Review – OPPO Find X3 Neo is a sleek and premium looking phone. OPPO’s Neo series usually stands in between the lower-spec Lite and the higher-end Pro but in most cases, you’ll still get a formidable phone while paying A$500 less.

It’s hard to set the Find X3 Neo as a mid-range phone because it looks and feels like a high-end smartphone in the lower tier. The Find X3 Neo has 5G connectivity, 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 flash charging, 90Hz refresh rate with AMOLED display, and a camera system that doesn’t disappoint.

OPPO Find X3 Neo Review – Design & Features

OPPO Find X3 Neo comes with a 6.5″ Super AMOLED screen with 92.1% screen-to-body ratio.

The back of the phone is a result from sophisticated design process with delicately etched pyramid texture (which sadly can’t be seen with the naked eye. The result, is a stylish finish that doesn’t look and feel cheap. The matte-feel surface is nice to the touch and finger-print resistant. The phone feels somewhat slippery but OPPO has included a case in the packaging for the extra grip and protection.

OPPO Find X3 Neo features a slim body weighing just 184 grams. Very nice to hold and easy to carry around, especially when you have to put it inside your pants’ pocket.

Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G processor with 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM, Find X3 Neo delivers super smooth performance. Apps instantly open when pressed, games run smoothly, and scrolling social media feed or news is pleasing thanks to the 90Hz refresh rate. The whole experience definitely feels like you are using a flagship phone.

It has both fingerprint (on-display) and facial unlocking, giving you choices to unlock your phone.

The Find X3 Neo rear camera system includes a 2MP Macro, 13MP Telephoto, 50MP Main, and 16MP Ultra Wide-Angle lens with Sony IMX 766 sensor for enhanced day and night shooting. Its built-in AI help with the shoot and post-processing to give you the best, enhanced look of both your photos and videos.

While it won’t be as good as the Pro, the Neo can take great pictures in both daylight and at night time. OPPO also adds extra features to spice your photos and videos up like the flares background lighting, Ultra Night Video, etc. There’s a 2x Optical Zoom and 5x Hybrid Zoom which can come in handy to get your subjects up close without spooking them.

The AI Scene Enhancement, for example, will automatically try to recognise the scene and then adjust the colour tones and other things to make your photos pop. If you are like me who can’t be bothered tweaking the photos after they’ve been taken, then I guess you’ll love the automated option.

It can be a hit and miss for sure, as sometimes photos can look unnatural or too bright for my liking but you can always switch it off and on while taking photos, or edit the photos after to your preference.

OPPO Find X3 Neo Review Conclusion

OPPO Find X3 Neo comes with a sleek and lightweight design, but doesn’t sacrifice the pro features. With 90Hz refresh rate, bright AMOLED display, fast performance, 5G, 65W SuperVOOC 2.0, and formidable camera system, OPPO Find X3 Neo is more than capable to be used as your daily driver.

Compared to the Pro, the Neo doesn’t have wireless charging, no waterproofing, and less everything (processing power, display, and camera). However, what the Neo offers is more than enough for most smartphone users unless they want the best of the best and don’t mind paying for it. Compared to the Pro however, the Find X3 Neo is A$500 cheaper so it’s definitely something that you might want to consider grabbing instead.

It retails for A$999 and available now on OPPO’s website and retailers around Australia in two different colours: Starlight Black and Galaxy Silver.

And if you purchase the Find X3 Neo until 9th of September 2021, you’ll also get a bonus gift of Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen (check our review out) valued at A$149.
