How to stream video to iPad for FREE with Air Playit – I’ve encountered some apps on the iTunes App store before that can stream video and even audio files from your desktop computer to iPad or an iPhone. Most of them are not free though and the “lite” version doesn’t really do any justice. Air Playit from Digiarty Software comes as a free alternative to stream video to iPad for FREE and it has now ranked on top 50 under the Entertainment category in the App Store, even when it was only released on July 16 which was less than 2 weeks ago.
How to stream video to iPad for FREE with Air Playit
With Air Playit, you can stream video to iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch without having to convert the video format first beforehand. Air Playit is capable of streaming 320 different video & audio formats in total, even MKV videos. If you have a PC or Mac, install the Air Playit server and then stream these media contents straight to your iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch via WiFi AND 3G/4G connection! Of course, I wouldn’t recommend streaming video files through a 3G connection as it will chew up your data really fast.
Unlike most of other video streaming apps, you can also store your video and audio files offline using Air Playit to your phone. Air Playit also supports streaming contents to Apple TV if you have one set-up at your home.
And if you have finished watching those vides on your iPad, turn your PC or Mac off remotely using Air Playit. This way, you don’t have to get up from your bed after watching a movie on your iPad and simply sleep away :) On the next day, you can start another stream video to iPad session again as normal. There you go, lazy bumps – more great apps for you!
Air Playit is totally free and available to download at http://www.airplayit.com/ – the server can be installed on either a PC or a Mac. The iOS apps are also available at iTunes App store. The Android version will be coming soon so I’d love to test this on my Samsung Galaxy SII and also on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (some time later in August/September as part of the Samsung Street Squad program).
