Nintendo has announced the release of a special edition Nintendo Switch – OLED Model, featuring a design from the upcoming game The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The console, along with two matching accessories, will launch on May 12th, the same day as the highly anticipated game.
The new Nintendo Switch – OLED Model boasts a 7-inch OLED screen, a wide adjustable stand, and 64 GB of internal storage. It also features enhanced audio in handheld and tabletop mode, making it the perfect companion for the epic adventures that players will embark on in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the highly anticipated sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and will allow players to explore the vast landscapes of Hyrule and the mysterious islands in the sky above.
The special edition Nintendo Switch – OLED Model features a unique design inspired by the game, including the Hylian Crest from the Legend of Zelda series on the front of the dock. The set also includes a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and a Nintendo Switch carrying case, both with designs from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. As you can see from the product shots below, they all look amazing.
Series producer Eiji Aonuma demonstrated new gameplay from the upcoming title in a video released by Nintendo. The video showcases some of the new features in the game, such as the ability to glide through the sky using Link’s paraglider, and the use of runes to manipulate the environment and solve puzzles.
The Nintendo Switch – OLED Model can be played in three modes: TV mode, handheld mode, and tabletop mode. This versatility allows players to take their gaming experience with them on the go, wherever their adventures may take them. This is what make Nintendo Switch shines, and my first amazement when I attended the Nintendo Switch launch in Australia for the first time (also check my original Nintendo Switch review here).
This Nintendo Switch’s OLED Special Edition is a must-have for fans of The Legend of Zelda series.
