It’s May the 5th; so Windows 7 RC (Release Candidate) has finally gone live!
Microsoft has prepared and published the download page for Windows 7 RC for public. This time, no more limited keys so you don’t need to keep on pressing that F5 button (or submitting the form over and over)! (But of course, some of you including myself, have grabbed the RC somewhere else before this public release *ahem*).
Windows 7 RC will expire on June 1, 2010 but practically, it will expire on March 1, 2010. Why? Because starting from March 2010, your Windows will shut down automatically every 2 hours, basically making your life miserable.
If you haven’t tried Windows 7 yet, then you should. Especially if you are on Windows Vista (since Windows 7 is basically what Vista should have been). It’s much more stable and responsive than Windows Vista, even during its beta phase.
Microsoft recommends to do a clean install of Windows 7 RC but I’ve successfully upgraded from Windows 7 Beta without any problems. I’m just being too lazy to reinstall all my programs again at this stage. I’ll publish a post soon on how to successfully upgrade from Windows 7 Beta to Windows 7 RC.
Seems like we are given new keys for the RC as I got myself a different key from the Beta.
Download Microsoft Windows 7 RC.
