Waterproof cameras or camcorders have been quite popular these days – allowing you to take pictures under rainy conditions or even better, up to 3 metres below water surface. Ricoh PX does all of these with an additional shockproof for falls up to 1.5 metres and also dust/dirt/sand proof. It’s the perfect camera for those who are adventurous and want to take some snaps during their daring adventure.
The Ricoh PX doesn’t look rugged considering it has a shockproof feature and looks like an ordinary point-and-shoot camera. It has a 16 Megapixel resolution and 5x optical zoom. When turned on, the camera will be up and running in under 1.4 seconds so you can quickly snap that crucial moment with ease. It has all the camera built-in features that the previous models have (like my Ricoh CX2) such as the miniature mode, high contrast black and white, and also pre-set scenes like night scene, beach, etc. You can also customise your own presets and save them into your own modes.
The Ricoh PX is available in silver, black, and green color (check the picture again above) although you can get the protective silicon sleeves in a different color to further customise it to your taste.
The Ricoh PX will be available in retail soon (June 2011). RRP AUD299
