Overwatch 2 Season 14 Brings New Hero Hazard and the Return of Winter Wonderland Event

Overwatch 2 Season 14 comes at the right time as many other players are trying the new Marvel Rivals – so Overwatch fans can stay and have something to get excited about. There are a lot of contents to dive in Season 14, including the new Tank hero, Hazard, alongside the return of beloved winter festivities. Hazard is a Scottish brawler who’s set to shake up the current meta with his unique hybrid playstyle that combines elements of both dive and brawl compositions.

Hazard brings fresh mechanics to the battlefield with his signature ability to traverse any surface, making him an unpredictable threat across all maps. His ultimate ability, which can ensnare enemies, adds another layer of strategic depth to team fights.

I find that he can be menacing when you are being dived by his Violent Leap ability. The slash, if connected, will take a chunk of health out of you. Then, if his shots are connected, you can be eliminated within 2-3 seconds. His Jagged Wall is also quite useful to block anyone’s path who dares to run away from him but can also be used to quickly block incoming enemy’s attack or ultimates.

I definitely had a lot of fun playing him today though he’s not that good in big maps since he needs his enemies to be closed to him.

The season also marks the return of the 6v6 Role Queue event, bringing back the classic 2-2-2 team composition that many veteran players, myself included, remember fondly. This nostalgic format runs alongside the winter-themed events, including fan favourites like Mei’s Snowball Offensive and Freezethaw Elimination. These seasonal modes will be available until January 6, with players able to earn various rewards including the new Casual Hanzo skin.

At the heart of Season 14’s Battle Pass is the Mythic Thor Reinhardt skin, which features four distinct customisation levels. Starting with basic leather armour, players can progress through blue and red variants before reaching the fully enchanted form, complete with divine visual effects. The premium track also includes five Legendary skins featuring Odin Sigma, Celestial Mei, Mobster Hazard, Cyber Scientist Moira, and Cozy Sojourn.

For those opting for the free track, notable rewards include the Jötunn Junker Queen and Polar Cassidy skins. The Premium Battle Pass additionally offers a 20% XP boost throughout the season, 500 credits, and 80 Mythic Prisms that can be used on Thor Reinhardt, the upcoming Lead Rose Ashe Weapon Skin (which looks awesome, by the way), or previously released Mythic items.

As for the Ultimate Pass Bundle, you’ll get everything from the Premium Battle Pass plus Rose Majesty Mercy Legendary Skin, Dragon Hunter Pharah Legendary Skin, and 2,000 Overwatch Coins.

In the Shop, you can also purchase the Cardboard skin bundles which give you really great skins (I’m switching all my skins to these).

There is also an upcoming Overwatch 2 x Avatar: The Last Airbender collaboration which will give new, cool skins for Mei, Zenyatta, and more. Stay tuned for this.

So many skins to collect this Season!
