Mophie Juice Pack PowerStation Review–When you need portable power with style

Mophie Juice Pack PowerStation Review – There are plenty of portable battery chargers out there and there were lots that I have reviewed here at Craving Tech, but none of them is as stylish as this Mophie Juice Pack PowerStation.

Having a portable battery charger is really handy, especially if you are going out for the whole day without any access to a power station. Or, when you know that you will be using your phone a lot such as a voice navigation system or going to make lots of calls organising an event.

With a 4000mAh power capacity in your hands, thanks to Mophie Juice Pack PowerStation, you’ll have plenty of power left to recharge your device over and over again.

The packaging is quite simple and that is because the Mophie Juice Pack PowerStation is easy to use.

Mophie Juice Pack PowerStation Review – Design & Features

As I mentioned earlier on the first paragraph, this is probably the most stylish portable battery charger that I have ever reviewed on this blog. The Mophie Juice Pack PowerStation really has a nice feel to it (both on looks and  to the touch). It has a nice black finishing touch with a metallic exterior design. This portable battery charge feels premium and even looks as good as an iPhone, so to say. There is no cheap plastic material to be seen on this device. Everything feels luxurious.

It only has one hard button with a Battery icon to show the current battery power remaining left on the Mophie Juice Pack PowerStation.

Thanks to these 4 LED indicators, you can immediately check how much battery power is left on the unit (4 is the maximum).

The unit has 2 slots: 1 USB slot to plug your device cable in to charge your device and the other is micro USB to recharge the Mophie Juice Pack PowerStation on USB. Despite of what the product page description say, however, I found that you cannot recharge your device while the Juice Pack PowerStation is being recharged at the same time. However, this is expected of a portable battery charger and so far, it hasn’t annoyed me yet (I mean, if you do have access to charge a portable battery charger unit, that means you can use it to charge your device instead?).

The Mophie Juice Pack PowerStation houses a 4000mAh battery capacity, which is quite a  lot for such a tiny device. Though the unit has some weight to it, you can still carry it comfortably in your pocket. The iPhone 5 has about 1,440mAh battery power on it so technically you can charge it around 3 times from zero to full. That is quite amazing.

I found during my tests, that the Mophie Juice Pack PowerStation charged my iPhone 5 at around 1-2% a minute.

For your information, you can also charge an iPad on the Mophie Juice Pack PowerStation (I tested it with my iPad 3).

Mophie Juice Pack PowerStation

All in all, the Mophie Juice Pack PowerStation is an awesome portable battery charger. It houses a lot of power, quick charging capability, portability (you can slip it in your pockets with no worries), and most importantly, it has that nice aesthetic look.

Mophie Juice Pack PowerStation is really handy to have and the luxurious look-and-feel to it also adds another plus score!

  1. Wow, the design of this charger looks awesome. It looks like a genuine product by Apple.
I would prefer a larger capacity for a mobile charger. 4000mAh is just enough for 2 times charging.

    • Hehe yeah, it looks awesome! I rarely have to use a portable battery charger more than once, but I guess the more the better (though it will get heavier/bulkier)

  2. Most amazing piece of hardware ever. This one nails it for travellers and backpackers who need longer battery life for their smartphones. Absolute masterpiece of a tool.
