LiquidLEDs 2U and 3U LED Light Bulbs – In case you are not aware yet, LED light bulbs have made their way to our home and I’m sure it will not be too long before we can finally get rid of the incandescent light bulbs for good! They are alright but they run very hot, non-energy efficient, contains mercury (which can be poisonous in a sense). LiquidLEDs make LED home light bulbs possible.
If you want to know more about the benefits of LED light bulbs, feel free to read my other LED light bulbs review post on previous samples from LiquidLEDs.

The LiquidLEDs 2U LED Light Bulb has a good brightness overall which generates the same lighting strength of a 60-watt incandescent bulb but only uses 10.4W of power. Using my Belkin Conserve Insight to calculate the total power generated from the power socket, the reading actually shows 9.1W power use – which will cost $0.77/month or $9.24/year.
The LiquidLEDs 3U LED Light Bulb is significantly brighter, even with only 5.2W difference in power. The 3U is supposed to replace an 80-watt incandescent bulb. The light bulb is a bit bigger in size compared to the 2U’s. Belkin Conserve Insight shows 14.9W power use – which will cost $1.94/month or $23.28/year.
My old bulb was using 22.5W of power which costs me $2.67/month or $32.04/year. Compared to using the LiquidLEDs light bulbs (especially the 2U), the cost is significantly higher per month. It may take a while to breakeven but considering LED light bulbs have a very long lifespan, you actually save faster than you think (considering you don’t have to buy and replace your light bulbs). According to LiquidLEDs, the 2U and 3U LED Light Bulbs have a lifespan of 15,000 hours!
The LED light bulbs are quite bright to light up my bedroom and the 3U was actually brighter than my old bulb and I’m really happy with it. It runs not as hot as my old bulb, saves a bit of money, save the environment as it emits less CO2, and it also looks cool (though you probably won’t be able to see it in action anyway).
