HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Series Brings Premium Features and Outdoor Sports Tracking to the Australian Market

Huawei has just dropped their latest wearable lineup in Australia, and I’ve got to say the new WATCH FIT 4 Series looks quite impressive with its focus on outdoor activities and premium build quality (having reviewed the WATCH GT3 and WATCH FIT 2).

The new range comprises the higher-end WATCH FIT 4 Pro alongside the more affordable WATCH FIT 4, both targeting active users who don’t want to compromise on style or performance.

The WATCH FIT 4 Pro represents a significant upgrade from previous models with its titanium alloy bezel and aluminium body. What immediately stands out is the sapphire glass display—something typically reserved for much more expensive smartwatches. The 1.82-inch AMOLED display now offers a remarkable 3000 nits peak brightness, which is triple what we saw in the previous generation. This means you’ll actually be able to see your fitness stats clearly even when running or cycling under direct Australian sunlight.

Despite packing in more features, Huawei has managed to make the device lighter and thinner, which should improve comfort during extended wear. The Pro version comes with a choice of Black and Blue variants with Fluoroelastomer straps, while the Green edition features a quick-drying woven nylon material that’s perfect for those sweaty summer workouts.

For golfers, there’s free access to over 15,000 global golf course maps, including 1,350 Australian courses. The watch provides data on distances, wind speed and direction—information that could genuinely help improve your game rather than just being a marketing gimmick.

The Pro model supports free-diving up to 40 metres with real-time insights and safety alerts.

Hikers and trail runners haven’t been forgotten either, with upgraded GPS accuracy (30% improvement, according to Huawei) and the addition of offline contour maps.

One of the most practical features is the claimed 10-day battery life on the WATCH FIT 4 Pro. While I’d need to test this personally to verify, Huawei has typically delivered solid battery performance in their wearables. This extended battery life makes the watch much more practical for multi-day hiking trips or travel without needing to pack yet another charger.

The health tracking capabilities have also received meaningful updates. The latest HUAWEI TruSense System measures various health metrics including heart rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), providing insights that go beyond simple step counting.

There is also an expansion of the Menstrual Cycle Management features, which now help users recognise hormonal patterns and detect irregularities.

The standard WATCH FIT 4 (starting at A$299) brings many of these features to a more affordable price point, including the new water sports functions. These track seven major water activities including paddle boarding, canoeing, board surfing, and rowing—perfect for Australians who spend much of their leisure time near the coast or waterways.

The addition of Barometric Tracking for real-time elevation data should also appeal to hikers and outdoor enthusiasts who want to track their vertical progress without splashing out for the Pro model.

Cross-Platform Compatibility and Availability

Both models in the WATCH FIT 4 Series work with iOS and Android, making them versatile options regardless of your smartphone preference. The WATCH FIT 4 Series will be available for purchase from May 28th, with pre-orders opening May 16th. Customers who pre-order can receive up to a A$100 gift card, which makes the A$299 starting price even more attractive.
