Firefox Metro for Windows 8 is here, almost

Firefox Metro

Firefox Metro UI, ahem, I mean, Firefox Modern UI is almost here. It is now available for download through the Firefox Nighly build (which means it’s stable enough for you to download and use, but it’s not really final yet). If you think that the default Firefox icon looks horrible on your Windows 8 start menu, you can now be happy to know that you will get a fancy new looking icon that matches the Metro Modern UI theme.

I’m not sure, however, whether there are any other changes under the hood on the nightly Firefox specifically made for Windows 8. Judging from the comments on the blog post at weblogs.mozillazine.org, it appears that there are still work to be done.

But if seeing the default Firefox icon on your Windows 8 Start Menu annoys you so much (or if you take great pride on the Modern UI icons on your Windows 8 tablet), you’ll be happy to find the new icon blends in really well.

If you are using one, do let us know what you think of the Firefox Metro/Modern UI on Windows 8 which you can download at Firefox Nightly.
