Note: This is a guest post written by Jeeva Shanmugam

The Apple September event is always a kinda fest for Apple users, starting with the virtual invitation to all the promotional activities that make the user’s expectations higher. Finally, Apple concluded their “Far Out” event yesterday as we all expected next-gen Apple products like iPhone 14, Apple Watch 8, and Airpods Pro 2, and an official note of the release of iOS 16 alsogot placed in the event, let me give you an overview of all the products that got launched in the event.

Not all successors got a great update, as Apple’s traditional followers we all know that Apple will not encourage a big jump to their next product lineup. Apple is very popular for always moving on with smaller tweaks and better features, and not so surprisingly the same formula is applicable for the latest Apple event.

With the changes made to the iPhone 14 lineup to the new Apple Watch ultra, the event is so engaging with new launches and expected features. Let’s break down the Apple event one by one.

1/6 – iPhone 14 Pro

Apple surprised us a lot with the iPhone 14 Pros, an all-new look with an extraordinary display and an industry-class brightness, overall iPhone 14 Pros are the attention seeker of the show.

Let’s start with the display. iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max have the traditional 6.1 and 6.7- inch display, but the most surprising part is the notch. Well, it’s not the kind of statistical notch that can be seen in other smartphones, the notch along the way acts as a secondary window for immersive multitasking.

Apple calls it a “Dynamic Island” it helps us to access quick settings like Apple Maps,  Music, and other bunch activities. You can use maps and also listen to songs at a time all can be accessed using the “dynamic island” window.

The feature works with a chunk of Apple applications, and Apple claims third-party apps also can make use of the “dynamic island”. Other than that Apple integrated the A16 Bionic chipset for the iPhone 14 pro-line-up which ensures more power with better efficiency.

Finally, the iPhone pro lineup got an Always-On display functionality with a ProMotion display with adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz for better battery efficiency and also for better always-on display.

With a fingerprint-safe oleophobic coating backing for a simultaneous display of several languages and characters, iPhone Pro ranges have an industry-leading 2000 nits peak brightness.

After 7 freaking years Finally Apple updated its rear camera setup, the iPhone 14 Pro has a 48 MP main sensor for capturing more light and also for extraordinary low light photos.  Also has a 12MP Ultra Wide, 12MP 2x Telephoto.

Apple uses new technology for getting quality photos, they call the technology a photonic engine, and iPhone 14 Pro enables 4K video recording at 24 fps, 25 fps, 30 fps or 60 fps, 1080p HD video recording at 25 fps, 30 fps or 60 fps 720p HD video recording at 30 fps Cinematic mode up to 4K HDR at 30 fps Action mode up to 2.8K at 60 fps.

It also has a 12 MP true depth camera with an ƒ/1.9 aperture that enables perfect Autofocus. The camera also has a 4K video recording at 24 fps, 25 fps, 30 fps, or 60 fps 1080p HD video recording at 25 fps, 30 fps, or 60 fps.  Cinematic mode up to 4K HDR at 30 fps HDR video recording with Dolby Vision up to 4K at 60 fps.

Apple paid more attention to improving connectivity and iPhone 14 Pro comes with “emergency SOS” and “crash detection” feature to help users in an emergency. iPhones in the US will not have a physical sim setup instead Apple is going with the eSim, the iPhones are 5G enabled.

These are all the advancements that are mainly focused on iPhone 14 Pro. It also comes with minor updates for productivity and efficiency.

The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will be available for sale from September 16, 2022.

2/6 – iPhone 14

This time Apple is more concerned about the Pro lineup, so most of the new technological advancements are available only for the Pro line-up. Still, iPhone 14 also comes with minor advancements. Let’s discuss the features.

First of all, Apple discontinued the mini lineup as it was not performing well in sales. Apple launched a new iPhone in the plus series. iPhone 14 Plus has the same specifications as the iPhone 14 but with an iPhone 14 pro-Max body ensuring a bigger battery and a larger display. I hope the iPhone 14 Plus will go crazy in sales.

Other than the screen-to-body ratio all the specifications are common for the 14 and 14 Plus, The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus has an HDR display with True Tone enabled Wide color.

With a fingerprint-safe oleophobic coating backing for a simultaneous display of several languages and characters, iPhone Pro ranges from 800 to 1200 nits peak brightness.

Other than that Apple integrated last year’s Pro model’s  A15 Bionic chipset for the iPhone 14 line-up, I like this move, instead of reducing the performance of the A16 bionic, Apple has integrated last year’s pro-line-up chipset which ensures more power with better efficiency equivalent to current Pro-line-up.

Cameras have a minor upgrade only to the sensor, the 14 lineup comes with a dual camera setup of 12MP each. The Main 12MP with an ƒ/1.5 aperture, sensor?shift optical image stabilization, and another 12MP Ultra Wide with an ƒ/2.4 aperture that ranges 120° field of view.

Apple uses the same photonic engine camera technology as what they used for Pro-line-up for getting quality photos especially when low light and iPhone 14 enables 4K video recording at 24 fps, 25 fps, 30 fps or 60 fps, 1080p HD video recording at 25 fps, 30 fps or 60 fps 720p HD video recording at 30 fps Cinematic mode up to 4K HDR at 30 fps Action mode up to 2.8K at 60 fps.

The 14 line-up also has an “emergency SOS” feature and a “crash detection”  These are all the primary advancements that are mainly focused on iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. It also comes with minor updates for productivity and also improved a lot for optimization.

The iPhone 14 will be available for sale from September 16, 2022. But the plus model will be available for sale from October 7th, 2022 for some reason.

3/6 – Airpods Pro 2nd Gen

I was very excited to see the Airpods pro successor and finally, Apple unveiled the Airpods Pro 2, not a major upgrade but comes with sufficient advancements. Apple is very popular for spatial audio on their AirPods and this time Apple enhanced the spatial audio with their custom high-excursion Apple driver and Custom high dynamic range amplifier.

Apple improved the efficiency of the Active Noise Cancelation which is sweetly known as ANC. Apple upgraded the Airpods Pro 2 with an H2 headphone chip and U1 chip in MagSafe Charging Case.

The Airpods come with IPX4 sweat and water resistance for both AirPods Pro and charging case. The Airpods Pro 2 comes with Dual beamforming microphones and an Inward-facing microphone Skin-detect sensor Motion-detecting accelerometer Speech-detecting accelerometer. All can be accessed with the Touch control.

The Airpods Pro 2 will be available for sale from September 23, 2022, but you can order the product on Friday, September 9, 2022.

4/6 – Apple Watch Ultra

I was surprised by the launch of the Apple Watch Ultra. The build quality of the Apple Watch Ultra made my Jaw Drop. I was surprised by its build quality. The features are also insane.

The watch is made of a 49mm titanium case and sapphire front crystal that ensures the best display on an Apple watch ever It also has sweat and water resistance, many heavy users are worried about the battery backup of the Apple Watch, but this Apple Watch Ultra has an insane battery backup that lasts up to 36 hours of minimal usage even with a bigger display.

5/6 – Apple Watch Series 8

The successor of the Watch 7, the Apple Watch Series 8 does come with minor upgrades since Apple is mainly focusing on Apple Watch Ultra the focus made on Apple Watch 8 is not sufficient.

But still, it is a quite good upgrade from Watch 7 the Apple Watch Series 8 has the Crash Detection feature that was found in iPhones, temperature sensing for deeper insights into women’s health.

The Apple Watch Series 8 has a better sleep tracking feature to track down your average sleep cycle, the Watch 8 comes with an always-on display that ensures a better and bright quality of panel used.

The watch has narrower bezels that cover 99% of the screen-to-body ratio, the watch reflects crispy and vibrant colors and text so it is easy to read the messages even in harsh sunlight.

It has a larger display than Series 7 so typing and reacting made it easier, as I mentioned before the watch has Crack, Watch, and Dust resistance. On a Whole, if you are looking for a watch that ensures your health and productivity, especially for women, then the series 8 is best for you.

The Apple Series 8 will be available for sale from September 16, 2022

6/6 – Apple Watch SE

Compared to Series 8 or Apple Watch Ultra, the SE is budget friendly; many users love the Watch SE just because of its price to performance. The Watch SE comes with a 50M water resistance means the Watch ensures users can make a smaller dive into the swimming pool.
