I’m on the iOS 14 beta channel and this annoying error message keeps on popping up continuously today: “A new iOS update is now available. Please update from the iOS 14 beta”.
The message appears each time you wake your iPhone up, or sometimes after opening an app. Pressing “OK” will make the message go away, but it’s coming back again after.
The first thing I did was checking to see if there was a new Software Update, but nothing. I then tried removing my Beta profile but unfortunately, that did nothing as well.
It looks like I’m not the only one and there is a long Reddit thread of all iOS 14 beta testers having the same issue.
The good thing is, you are not alone and most likely Apple will send a new update in a day or two to fix this.
There seems to be a temporary workaround or fix where you can turn the automatic time setting off and change your phone’s date back (i.e backdate to a few days before, for example) but I can’t be bothered.
In short, don’t remove your Beta profile as that actually does nothing to solve the “A new iOS update is now available. Please update from the iOS 14 beta” error message.
UPDATE: Looks like Apple has released the official iOS 14.2. If you check for updates on iOS settings, you should see the iOS 4.2 appears (about 5GB of install). Once you install it, the problem will go away.
