Samsung Electronics has unveiled its latest tablet offerings, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S10+, marking a significant leap in the integration of artificial intelligence into portable devices (it’s all about AI this year). These tablets, set to launch on 10 October 2024, are poised to expand Samsung’s AI ecosystem while offering users an intuitive and powerful experience.
At the heart of the Galaxy Tab S10 series lies impressive hardware upgrades. The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra boasts a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, while the S10+ features a 12.4-inch screen. These expansive canvases are complemented by the bundled S Pen, enhancing both productivity and creativity. Performance-wise, the Ultra model sees substantial improvements over its predecessor, with an 18% increase in CPU, 28% boost in GPU, and 14% enhancement in NPU capabilities.
The tablets’ AI prowess is evident in features like Note Assist and Drawing Assist, optimised for the larger form factor. A standout addition is the Galaxy AI Key on the Book Cover Keyboards, allowing users to customise their AI assistant experience with ease. The series also doubles as a home AI device, offering a 3D Map View for visual management of connected devices within the SmartThings ecosystem.
Durability and display quality remain key focal points. Both models feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology, enhanced by an anti-reflective coating for clear outdoor viewing. The tablets’ quad speaker setup is further improved with AI-powered Dialogue Boost. An IP68 rating and reinforced Armour Aluminium construction ensure these devices can withstand the rigours of daily use.
The Galaxy Tab S10 series shines in its ability to enhance productivity and creativity. Features like Note Assist streamline notetaking, while Sketch to Image serves as a creative assistant. The integration of Circle to Search with Google allows for seamless information retrieval without switching apps.
Samsung’s commitment to user privacy and security is evident in the Advanced Intelligence settings, which offer control over data processing. The Samsung Knox security platform provides real-time threat detection, ensuring users can confidently utilise the device’s full potential.
Available in Moonstone Grey, the Galaxy Tab S10+ starts at A$1,799 for the Wi-Fi model and A$2,049 for the 5G variant. The Tab S10 Ultra begins at A$2,099 for Wi-Fi and A$2,349 for 5G connectivity.
