RazerCon 2024 has once again proven why Razer remains at the forefront of gaming technology and innovation. Led by CEO Min-Liang Tan, this year’s event showcased a suite of groundbreaking products that promise to redefine the gaming experience. From haptic innovations to advanced cooling solutions and software upgrades, Razer continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in gaming technology.
And it goes beyond just gaming peripherals like your keyboard, mouse, and headset.
Razer Freyja: The World’s First HD Haptic Gaming Cushion
The star of the show was undoubtedly the Razer Freyja, the world’s first HD haptic gaming cushion. Powered by Razer Sensa HD Haptics, this innovative device brings a new dimension to gaming immersion. The Freyja features six advanced haptic motor actuators that deliver multi-directional feedback, allowing gamers to feel the direction, distance, and intensity of in-game actions.
Whether you’re dodging bullets in a first-person shooter or feeling the rumble of an engine in a racing game, the Freyja translates these experiences into tangible sensations. Its versatility extends beyond gaming, enhancing movie-watching and music-listening experiences with immersive haptic feedback.
The Freyja offers multiple connectivity options, including Razer HyperSpeed Wireless and Bluetooth, ensuring compatibility with PCs and Android devices via the Razer Nexus app. A quick-release connection feature prevents cable snags, while an adjustable strap ensures a secure fit on most gaming or office chairs.
Gamers can fine-tune their experience through Razer Synapse 4, adjusting intensity levels or choosing from pre-set haptic profiles. Razer Freyja is available now at A$549.95.
Razer Kraken V4 Pro: Full Immersion, Full Control
The Razer Kraken V4 Pro represents the pinnacle of Razer’s audio technology. This wireless battlestation headset combines Razer Sensa HD Haptics with Razer Chroma RGB and an OLED Control Hub, offering unparalleled immersion and control.
The Kraken V4 Pro’s Sensa HD Haptics technology is integrated directly into major titles like “Hogwarts Legacy”, “Stalker 2”, and “Final Fantasy 16”, providing a sensory experience that blurs the line between game and reality. The new OLED Control Hub allows for extensive customisation, displaying critical PC metrics and enabling on-the-fly audio adjustments.
A standout feature is the headset’s four modes of connectivity—Razer HyperSpeed Wireless, Bluetooth, USB, and 3.5 mm—ensuring seamless audio across PC, console, and mobile devices. The Kraken V4 Pro also introduces the ability to mix audio from both 2.4GHz and Bluetooth sources simultaneously, a first for Razer gaming headsets.
Equipped with the Razer HyperClear Super Wideband Mic and patented Razer TriForce Bio-Cellulose 40 mm Drivers, the Kraken V4 Pro delivers exceptional audio quality and voice clarity. THX Spatial Audio further enhances the experience with realistic positional audio.
Razer Kraken V4 Pro is available now at A$649.95
Razer Laptop Cooling Pad: Adaptive Smart Cooling
For laptop gamers, Razer introduced the Laptop Cooling Pad, an intelligent cooling solution designed for 14″ to 18″ laptops. This accessory features smart fan control, an airtight pressure chamber, and three magnetic frames to support a wide variety of laptops.
The high-velocity 140 mm fan circulates cool air trapped within airtight seals, potentially reducing CPU and GPU temperatures by up to 18%. The smart cooling feature automatically adjusts fan speed based on component temperatures, optimising the balance between performance and noise.
Custom memory foam frames ensure a tight fit for both Windows and fanless laptops, while remappable multi-function buttons allow control over fan speed and Razer Chroma RGB lighting. Through Razer Synapse, users can access preset or personalised fan curves for automated cooling efficiency.
Set to release in Q4 2024 at A$219.95, the Razer Laptop Cooling Pad promises to be an essential accessory for laptop gamers seeking to maximise performance and optimise thermal management.
Enhanced Connectivity: Intel Thunderbolt Share on Razer Blade 18
Razer announced that Intel Thunderbolt Share is now available on all Razer Blade 18 (2024) models. As the world’s first Thunderbolt 5 laptop, this feature allows users to connect two PCs and share peripherals, including keyboards, mice, and monitors, while transferring files at speeds up to 40gbps.
This update, available worldwide starting today, significantly enhances the connectivity and versatility of the Razer Blade 18, cementing its position as a powerhouse in the gaming laptop market.
Razer Synapse 4: Faster, Smoother, Smarter
After extensive beta testing, Razer officially rolled out Razer Synapse 4. This new version of Razer’s configuration software boasts a 30% increase in overall processing speed compared to its predecessor, allowing for more efficient macro creation, settings configuration, and driver installation.
Synapse 4 introduces a modernised user interface designed for simpler navigation and streamlined customisation. It retains popular features from Synapse 3 while introducing new capabilities like 1 DPI Steps Adjustments, Sensitivity Matcher Calibration, and Enhanced Asymmetric Cut-Off for mice.
The software also enables Razer Snap Tap, enhancing keyboard responsiveness by prioritising the latest input between two selected keys. Initially available on the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro line, Snap Tap can now be enabled on more Razer keyboards and even Razer Blade gaming laptops.
As Razer continues to innovate and push the boundaries of gaming technology, these new products and updates demonstrate the company’s dedication to creating more immersive, efficient, and sustainable gaming experiences. With RazerCon 2024, Razer has not only showcased its latest innovations but also set the stage for the future of gaming, promising even more exciting developments as the company approaches its 20th anniversary in 2025!
