Ring announced new Video Doorbells and Chimes

Our house is covered with a range of security cameras from all corners, but nothing is more useful than having the Ring Video Doorbell at the front of our main door (check out our review on the Video Doorbell Pro). Not only it acts as a house doorbell, you can also see who’s ringing the bell and even answer them. Or when there are just strangers lurking about your house, you’ll get a notification to see what they are up to and scare them away if needed.

If you don’t have hardwired connection, you’d probably have one of the battery-powered Ring Video Doorbells. Today, Ring has announced the upgraded model which is the new Video Doorbell 3 and Video Doorbell 3 Plus

Using the successful design, formula, and features on the Video Doorbell 2, the new Video Doorbell 3 features a new, adjustable motion zone called near zone, that can detect motion within 1.5 – 4.5 meters from the front door, as well as enhanced dual-band 2.4Ghz/5Ghz Wi-Fi for improved connectivity.

The Video Doorbell 3 Plus also has an extra “Pre-Roll” technology which allows you to see an additional 4 seconds before the motion event gets triggered. While this is not a new feature to Ring (the Pro already has it), it’s the first to come to battery-operated Ring video doorbells. The pre-roll clips will be in Black and White and at a lower resolution to preserve battery life.

Apart from the new Video Doorbells, Ring has also updated the Ring Chime models with Ring Chime and Chime Pro. The new Chime devices have a new modern look and an LED status indicator for setup and power states. Sure, probably not some factors that make you want to upgrade.

However, the Chime Pro includes a cool, built-in nightlight and now supports dual-band 2.4GHz & 5GHz Wi-Fi connectivity.
