Acer has expanded its Nitro gaming range with a fresh lineup designed specifically for casual and new gamers. The company unveiled the Nitro V 16S laptop alongside two high-definition monitors at a Berlin event, combining solid performance with accessible pricing across the collection.
The star of the announcement is the Acer Nitro V 16S, a portable gaming laptop that packs up to an Intel Core 7 processor 240H and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU into a remarkably slim 19.9mm metal chassis. The combination delivers support for DLSS 4 and neural rendering, which should provide smooth gameplay and decent content creation capabilities without the bulk typically associated with gaming laptops.
Display quality gets proper attention with the V 16S featuring a WUXGA (1920×1200) screen that covers 100% of the sRGB colour space and runs at a 180Hz refresh rate. This setup should handle most gaming scenarios well, delivering accurate colours for both gaming and creative work. The 4-zone RGB keyboard adds some gaming flair without going overboard on the aesthetics.
Acer has included their NitroSense software for real-time performance monitoring and fan control, which proves useful when you need to balance performance with thermal management. The Acer Experience Zone provides access to AI-powered applications that boost productivity and creativity tasks. Connectivity options include Intel Killer DoubleShot Pro for stable network performance and Thunderbolt 4 for fast data transfers and streaming capabilities.
The monitor lineup brings two distinct options for different gaming preferences. The Nitro XV270X targets users wanting ultra-high resolution with its 5K (5120×2880) display. It delivers a 2,000:1 contrast ratio, 1ms VRB response time, and 95% DCI-P3 colour coverage for accurate colour reproduction. Built-in 2W speakers handle basic audio needs.
For those preferring an immersive curved experience, the Nitro XZ403CKR offers a massive 39.7-inch 1000R curved panel with 5K WUHD (5120×2160) resolution. The monitor includes Dynamic Frequency Resolution technology and supports WFHD resolution at 288Hz refresh rates. Response times hit 1ms VRB and 0.5ms GTG, while AMD FreeSync Premium support ensures smooth, tear-free gaming. The display includes more robust 5W speakers and comprehensive port options.
The Nitro V 16S will hit Australian retailers through Harvey Norman this September starting at A$2,599. The XV270X monitor arrives in Q1 2026 with pricing from A$1,499, while the larger XZ403CKR launches in the same period starting at $1,899. All pricing represents starting configurations, with final specifications and availability varying by region.
