Tineco FLOOR ONE S7 STEAM Review – Cordless Steam-Powered Perfection

Sometime ago, I was visiting a friend’s house when he showed me a new tech that he used to clean his house. Ah yea, that looked like a big vacuum cleaner. Nothing too fancy. That’s what I thought until he showed me how we vacuumed his house while mopping it, AT THE SAME TIME, ALL WITH ONE device. That was my first Tineco experience and it was a roller coaster. So when I got a call that I could review Tineco, I jumped at the chance.

After a short few days, lo and behold, Tineco FLOOR ONE S7 Steam at my doorstep in all of its glory. As I opened it, I was a bit overwhelmed by the number of components I saw inside the packaging. But after reading the instructions, everything was very straightforward and easy to assemble. It was all ready in no time at all. After a good 5 hours of initial charge, and a full clean water tank, I could finally use it.

First thing that I noticed was the ease of use. All I had to do was turn it on and tilt it back to about 142 degrees and ON it went. To stop, I simply needed to put it back upright. The device itself is quite heavy, potentially because of a full water tank, but it pushes itself forward somewhat when in use, so it is really not that heavy to move it around.

To start with I went with the AUTO mode where it is meant to detect if it needed to use the steam or not. I liked this mode because I did not have to think and could just assume that the appliance would apply the steam when appropriate. It helped that it showed a red light on the display when it detected heavy pollutants and blue light when it detected smaller pollutants. Very convenient!

If you are the kind of person that also likes to mop your floor, this would really cut your cleaning time by half. It also gives you control to manually switch to STEAM mode to clean normal pollutants or to BOOST STEAM mode to clean heavier pollutants.

After going through every hard floor room in my house and trying steam and the boost steam mode, I was finally done. I put it back in the charging dock and turned on the self cleaning mode. Now the self cleaning feature is fantastic. After the self cleaning was completed, the voice feedback told me to empty the dirty water tank.

Ah yes, the voice feedback. I love that it has a voice feedback feature and how informative the things it tells you can be. But I am not so crazy about the initial volume of the voice. It was definitely too loud for me. It also does not help that I normally do my cleanings after everyone is asleep. Yes, I can control the volume by using the app on my mobile, but it would be so nice if I could just adjust the volume right then and there on the device. Besides, I tried to adjust the volume using the app and I could not really notice the difference between the different levels we had there.

In fact, there is another thing you can only turn on via the app, and that is the suction only mode. This mode can suck water. This can be very useful when you have water spills and wet messes. But it will take so much effort to reach out for your mobile, login to the app, then turn on the suction mode. It will be much easier if we can do this thing by a press of a button in the device itself.

In fact, every action that has a potential to be a repeatable action, I would suggest to put the control on the device itself, not the app. Oooh, another cool suggestion could be if the SUCTION ONLY mode is also included in the AUTO mode, meaning if it detects water, it will just suck it. That would be more awesome.

Last but not least, I think it is a bit of a let down to needing to buy a separate device for carpet. Most houses have both carpeted rooms and hard floor rooms. With the premium price tag this device has, it is harder to justify buying another one for a different purpose. But if I have to guess the thinking behind it, it might be because they want to have a specific appliance for a specific purpose that does one thing and does that one thing really well. I can understand that.

TINECO FLOOR ONE S7 STEAM REVIEW CONCLUSION

In conclusion, the Tineco FLOOR ONE S7 Steam stands out as an exceptional cleaning tool that combines vacuuming and mopping with the added benefit of steam cleaning. Its intuitive design and ease of use make it accessible for anyone, while its smart features, such as AUTO mode and voice feedback, enhance the overall user experience. The ability to switch between steam modes ensures that both light and heavy cleaning tasks are handled efficiently, saving time and effort.

The self-cleaning feature is a standout, providing convenience and maintaining the device’s performance without the need for manual intervention. The Tineco FLOOR ONE S7 Steam’s voice feedback system, although a bit loud initially, is informative and helps guide the user through various cleaning stages. Additionally, the seamless integration with the Tineco app offers more customisations, despite the minor inconvenience of accessing certain features only through the app.

While the device excels on hard floors, its limitation to hard floor cleaning might be a consideration for homes with both carpeted and hard floor areas. Nevertheless, the Tineco FLOOR ONE S7 Steam justifies its premium price with its robust performance and versatility, making it a valuable addition to any household.

Tineco FLOOR ONE S7 Steam is available now at JB Hi-Fi and other retailers for A$1199 RRP. Also at Amazon.com.
