SteelSeries Celebrates 25 Years with Three New Gaming Peripherals: Arctis Nova Pro Omni, Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 and Aerox 3 Wireless Gen 2

SteelSeries is marking its 25th anniversary with a trio of new gaming peripherals that span audio and precision input, each designed to address specific demands from modern gamers who juggle multiple platforms and expect premium performance across the board.

It has been a while since I heard anything from SteelSeries so it’s great to hear about these new, exciting products!

Arctis Nova Pro Omni

The flagship release is the Arctis Nova Pro Omni headset, bringing Hi-Res Wireless Certified audio to the gaming space. This headset features custom-designed Hi-Res Neodymium Magnetic 40mm Drivers with an extended frequency range from 10Hz to 40kHz, delivering 96kHz/24 bit wireless audio over both 2.4GHz and Bluetooth connections. The Hi-Res Wireless Certification comes from the Japanese Audio Society, which should give audiophile-minded gamers some confidence in the technical credentials.

Their previous flagship gaming headset was the Arctis Nova Pro (check my review here) so I’m quite excited to see what the new flagship headset has to offer.

The OmniPlay feature allows users to connect up to five devices and mix up to four audio sources simultaneously. This addresses a practical reality for anyone who switches between PC gaming, console sessions, mobile devices and streaming content without wanting to constantly swap connections. The broadcast-quality ClearCast Pro omnidirectional microphone handles communication duties, with onboard AI Noise Rejection that reduces up to 96% of background noise according to SteelSeries’ testing.

Active Noise Cancellation has been improved to block up to 40% more background noise compared to competitors, based on independent lab testing from October 2025. The Infinite Power System uses a dual-battery setup to provide unlimited battery life, which eliminates the familiar frustration of mid-session charging breaks. It’s great for esport or professional players in tournament settings.

Control options are extensive through the Omni-Control system. The Arctis App provides live tuning of game audio, Bluetooth audio and microphone EQ, with over 200 game-specific audio presets that can be changed on the fly. PC users get additional controls through the free Sonar App, which adds advanced mixing and spatial audio features. The GameHub’s OLED screen and command wheel offer visual display modes including per-source audio levels for quick adjustments without diving into menus.

The Arctis Nova Pro Omni will be available in Midnight Blue, White and Graphite at SteelSeries.com and select retailers worldwide for AU$879.

Arctis Nova 7 Wireless Gen 2

Alongside the Pro Omni, SteelSeries also launched the Arctis Nova 7 Wireless Gen 2 series which represents a more accessible entry point while maintaining multiplatform versatility. The Nova 7 Gen 2 works across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch (with support for the upcoming Switch 2), addressing the reality that many gamers now own multiple systems.

The battery life comes with a 40% boost over the previous Nova 7 generation bringing total runtime to 54 hours. Fast charging delivers six hours of use from just 15 minutes of charging, which should cover those situations where you forgot to plug it in overnight.

Like its more expensive sibling, the Nova 7 Gen 2 supports simultaneous 2.4GHz and Bluetooth audio mixing. This means you can stay in a Discord call on your phone while gaming on PlayStation, or take a phone call mid-game on Switch without disconnecting from game audio. The Arctis App provides access to over 200 expertly crafted audio preset profiles optimised for specific games including Call of Duty, GTA and Fortnite, plus profiles for music and entertainment.

The ClearCast Gen 2 microphone handles voice communications, and Neodymium Magnetic Speaker Drivers deliver spatial audio. The Nova 7 Gen 2 is available in black, white and magenta colourways at SteelSeries.com and retailers worldwide.

Aerox 3 Wireless Gen 2

Rounding out the anniversary releases is the Aerox 3 Wireless Gen 2 gaming mouse, which launched on April 7, 2026, as an evolution of the original Aerox ultralight series from 2020 (check out my review on the original Aerox 3 Wireless here). The defining spec here is the 4K polling rate (4000Hz), which refreshes cursor position up to 4000 times per second. This represents a 4x improvement over standard 1000Hz mice, reducing input delay from 1ms to 0.25ms for players using high refresh rate monitors.

The TrueMove 26K optical sensor tracks up to 26,000 DPI with 400 IPS tracking speed and 40G acceleration. Adjustable lift-off distance allows repositioning without disrupting aim, which becomes important during low-sensitivity play where you frequently run out of mousepad space.

Despite the performance specs, the Aerox 3 Gen 2 weighs just 68 grams and includes AquaBarrier technology with IP54 rating for protection against dust, dirt and water. Mechanical switches are rated for 80 million clicks, and battery life reaches up to 200 hours over Bluetooth or 120 hours over 2.4GHz depending on polling rate and lighting settings.

The SteelSeries GG software provides extensive tuning options including X/Y DPI configuration up to 26,000 CPI, polling rate adjustment, mouse acceleration, rotation control and scroll jump protection. Up to five profiles can be stored directly on the mouse for instant access on any system without requiring software installation.

To complement the Aerox 3 Wireless Gen 2 launch, SteelSeries released new QcK Heavy mousepads in black, white and magenta to match both the Aerox 3 Gen 2 and Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 colour collections. The QcK Heavy features a thicker, denser rubber base and premium micro-woven cloth surface that has been tested and approved by sensor manufacturer PixArt Imaging.

The Aerox 3 Wireless Gen 2 is available in Shadow, Ghost and Magenta for AU$229. QcK Heavy mousepads are priced at AU$29.99 for the L size and AU$49.99 for the XXL size in the APAC region.
