Narwal’s groundbreaking Certified Zero-Tangling Aerodynamic Brush Technology has been recognised with a Canstar Blue 2025 Innovation Excellence Award in the ‘Cleaning Appliance’ category, cementing the brand’s position in advanced home robotics.
The technology tackles a persistent pain point for vacuum users with a clever aerodynamic design that prevents hair from wrapping around the brush. Positioned strategically at the front underside of Narwal’s robotic vacuums, the brush effectively collects fur, hair, dirt and debris without the usual maintenance headaches.
What separates this technology from standard vacuum brushes is its sophisticated design approach. The conical shape aerodynamically channels hair directly into the suction pathway rather than allowing it to tangle around the brush. Its single-arm structure works with the 50° “Golden Angle” bristles to ensure hair moves smoothly through the vacuum and into the dust bag, reportedly picking up an impressive 99.56% of hair from floors.
“Narwal’s brush technology demonstrates an effective and validated approach to a persistent issue in home cleaning technology,” noted Canstar Blue in their 2025 assessment, highlighting how it addresses real consumer challenges.
The Zero-Tangling technology first appeared in the Freo X Ultra in January 2024 and now features across the entire Freo product range, including the more budget-friendly Freo X Plus and the premium Freo Z Ultra mode (the one I reviewed was the Freo Z Ultra – make sure to check it out here at Craving Tech)
Canstar Blue’s Innovation Excellence Awards spotlight game-changing breakthroughs that genuinely improve customers’ everyday lives. The rigorous evaluation process examines both the degree of innovation and its practical impact, with only the most impressive innovations earning the coveted five-star rating.
The judges specifically praised Narwal’s technology as “unique” and “disruptive” to the market, noting its affordability, ease of use, and positive impact on daily cleaning routines.
