Skullcandy Rail ANC Review – Combining Art and Audio in Earbuds

For the past 20 years, Skullcandy has been synonymous with cool audio gear, continuously innovating in the space. Their latest offering, the Skullcandy ANC Rail True Wireless Earbuds, is no exception. These earbuds boast a standout design with partially transparent casing, blending style with functionality.

The case, with its elegant mix of matte and glossy finishes and prominent Skullcandy logo, adds to the overall stylish aesthetic. Furthermore, their IPX4 rating ensures they are sweat and water-resistant, making them ideal for workouts or the daily unpredictability of life.

The ANC Rail earbuds come loaded with features:

  • Bluetooth 5.2
  • 12 mm driver diameter
  • Adjustable 4-Mic Active Noise Cancelling
  • Skull-iQ Smart Technology®
  • Personal sound by Mimi®
  • Wireless charging case
  • And many more

My Personal Experience with the ANC Rail Earbuds

Using the ANC Rail earbuds has been an enjoyable experience. While I’m not overly keen on Active Noise Cancelling, I found the ANC on these earbuds satisfactory, though some traffic noise was still audible

The battery life is impressive, offering up to 38 hours, which is more than enough for day-to-day use. I did encounter occasional issues with the Active Noise Cancelling, but these were easily resolved with slight adjustments to the earbuds’ position.

Intuitive Controls and Innovative App

The earbuds are equipped with both touch sensors and voice control. Simply saying ‘Hey, Skullcandy…’ activates the assistant, allowing for hands-free control over features like Spotify and ANC. The touch sensor functions – including play/pause, skipping tracks, and toggling ANC – are handy, though the sensor’s placement can be a bit tricky to get used to.

The Skullcandy IQ app significantly enhances the user experience, offering extensive customisation options, from touch controls to equaliser settings. The app makes it easy to tailor the earbuds to your personal preferences and maximise your listening experience.

Skullcandy Rail ANC Wireless Earbuds Review Conclusion

The Skullcandy Rail ANC‘s design is sleek, and the sound quality, particularly the bass, is impressive. This, coupled with the long-lasting battery, positions the Rail ANC as a strong competitor in the true wireless earbud market. The Skullcandy IQ App further improves the product with its user-friendly interface and customisation options.

Priced at A$229.95 RRP, the wireless earbuds offer a combination of style, functionality, and innovative technology. While there are minor setbacks, such as the occasional ANC issue and the touch sensor’s placement, the overall experience is positive, making them a valuable addition for anyone seeking quality wireless earbuds.
