The Oral-B iO Series 10 is the latest flagship, electric toothbrush from Oral-B, combining artificial intelligence with real-time feedback through the revolutionary iO Sense smart charger. The Series 10 is smart oral care system that aims to perfect your brushing technique through guided coaching and detailed tracking – while maintaining that excellent cleaning performance we all know from Oral-B electric toothbrushes in the past.

Design and Handling
The iO Series 10 maintains the familiar look and feel of previous generations, including the Series 9 I reviewed back in 2021. If you’ve used an Oral-B iO before, you’ll feel right at home. The Cosmic Black finish adds some visual flair to the handle, though I’ll admit it can occasionally look like you’ve got toothpaste residue spread all over it – a minor aesthetic quirk that’s worth noting if you’re particular about appearances.

Handling is excellent. The toothbrush is easy to manoeuvre around all quadrants of your mouth without feeling cumbersome or awkward. The ergonomic design makes it simple to reach back molars and navigate around, which matters more than you might think when you’re half-awake at 6am for an early travel.
Separate Power and Mode Controls
The Power and Mode buttons are made separately and I thank the team for that. Some electric toothbrushes often combined these functions, requiring you to remember what different press patterns did what. The iO Series 10 eliminates that confusion entirely – one button powers on, the other cycles through modes.
Speaking of modes, you get seven options: Daily Clean, Whiten, Gum Care, Intense, Tongue Clean, Sensitive, and Super Sensitive. If you have sensitive gums, switching to Sensitive mode is straightforward. For those without any particular issues, Daily Clean is normally the way to go – which is what I use every day.
iO Sense Smart Charger: Real-Time Guidance
The standout new feature of the iO Series 10 is the new iO Sense smart charger, which transforms brushing from a routine task into an actively guided experience. Rather than relying solely on your phone app for feedback, the charger provides personalised live coaching through intuitive guiding lights that monitor your brushing across six zones in your mouth. This immediate feedback is more practical than checking your phone mid-brush, making it easier to develop proper technique without interrupting your routine. The charger also has a timer display, so apart from the usual vibration notification on the brush when it’s time to change quadrant (every 30 seconds), you can see this visually.

For more thorough results and information though, the app is definitely the way to go if you set it all up. It’s worth setting up the app at least for the first few months until you’re comfortable that you’re actually brushing excellently. If you think you’ve been doing it right for years, Oral-B might actually prove you wrong. All this effort is to ensure you brush correctly for healthy teeth and gums in the long run.
iO Technology and Brush Head Design
The iO Series 10 uses Oral-B’s iO technology, which combines gentle micro-vibrations with the brand’s dentist-inspired round brush head. The brushing is excellent and feels stronger than the Oclean toothbrush I’ve been using for the past year. My mouth feels fresh afterwards and teeth look sparkly clean too – that professional clean feeling isn’t just marketing talk.
The Ultimate Clean brush head features Tuft-in-Tuft bristle technology. Shorter tufts handle surface cleaning whilst longer, separately positioned tufts reach interdental areas and other hard-to-reach spots. This dual-layer approach means you’re getting comprehensive cleaning without needing multiple brush heads for different purposes.
The round brush head design surrounds each tooth individually, which Oral-B claims provides 100% cleaner teeth and healthier gums compared to manual brushing. After using round brush heads for years, I find they’re particularly effective at reaching back molars and getting around brackets or dental work.
Artificial Intelligence and App Integration
Built-in artificial intelligence recognizes your brushing style through smart sensors and 3D tracking technology. The brush syncs with the free Oral-B app, which uses sophisticated 3D Brushing Recognition to assess your technique across 16 zones in your mouth. That’s notably more detailed than the six zones monitored by the iO Sense charger.
The app provides diagnostics after every brushing session and helps track long-term goals. For people who are serious about oral health or have specific dental concerns, this level of detail can be very useful. You can see exactly which areas you’re consistently missing and adjust your technique accordingly.
However, the app is entirely optional. If you just want a high-quality electric toothbrush without the data tracking, the iO Series 10 still delivers excellent results using just the brush itself and the iO Sense charger feedback.
Battery Life and Charging
Battery life is alright – I’m seeing about 3% battery usage each time I brush my teeth for the full two minutes. This should give you around two weeks of use, assuming you do a two-minute brushing session twice a day. That’s solid performance that means you’re not constantly monitoring charge levels or worrying about the battery dying mid-brush.
The compact magnetic charger provides lock-in-place stability and delivers a full charge in approximately three hours. This quick-charge capability means even if you forget to charge it regularly, a few hours on the charger gets you back to full capacity.
Travel Case

A nice, hard travel case is included, which charges your brush on the go. This is considerably more convenient than packing the full-size charger for trips. However, the charging unfortunately isn’t USB-C, so you still have to bring the power adapter in your luggage. In 2025, the lack of USB-C charging feels like a missed opportunity.
The case is also a bit bulky and large, which has been the same design for many years now. I wish the team would spend some time redesigning the travel case to make it more compact. When you’re trying to pack efficiently, the case takes up more room than I’d like, though the protective qualities are undeniably solid.
Oral-B iO Series 10 Review Conclusion

The Oral-B iO Series 10 represents the cutting edge of electric toothbrush technology in all iO Series. The iO Sense smart charger with real-time guidance is a practical innovation that improves brushing technique without requiring constant phone interaction. The AI-powered tracking through the app provides detailed insights that can correct years of improper brushing habits.
The brushing performance is excellent, delivering noticeably stronger cleaning than competing brands while maintaining the gentle micro-vibration technology that protects your gums. The separated Power and Mode buttons eliminate confusion, and the seven smart modes cater to different needs and sensitivities. Setting up the app for at least the first few months is worthwhile to ensure you’re developing proper technique for long-term oral health.
The main consideration is probably the premium price point. If you don’t really need the AI and other cool stuff coming in the latest series, your previous model will treat you well, still. Those who are looking forward to upgrade or serious about oral health and want to improve their brushing habit, the latest iO Series 10 is a nice treat.
