Introducing Withings’ Latest Innovation: The Next-Gen ScanWatch Series

In 2014, Withings took the world by storm with the release of their groundbreaking hybrid watch and the company continues to lead the market with the unveiling of its newest ScanWatch Series — a collection of health trackers that seamlessly marry style and functionality.

We’ve reviewed their original ScanWatch and really love the style and design, plus all the features powering the wearable. And now, Withings have announced two new models – ScanWatch 2 and ScanWatch Light.

ScanWatch 2 and ScanWatch Light are designed to cater to a range of lifestyle and health needs. The former serves as Withings’ flagship health tracker, brimming with advanced metrics for comprehensive health assessments. On the other hand, ScanWatch Light offers a simpler but robust approach to daily health monitoring, boasting a price point that’s as appealing as its aesthetics.

Move over, clunky smartwatches. The ScanWatch Series aims to disrupt the market by delivering the elegance of a classic timepiece, without skimping on cutting-edge technology. Equipped with autonomous and effortless continuous measurements, these watches require no daily charging—thanks to their 30-day battery lifeTech Meets Health: ScanWatch 2 Features

ScanWatch 2 boasts an array of state-of-the-art sensors and software that elevate its health-monitoring capabilities. These range from advanced metrics like variations in baseline body temperature and heart rate variability, to the automatic recognition of over 40 activities. It has also received an FDA clearance for its atrial fibrillation detection and oxygen saturation features. The sensors have been optimised to ensure continuous and precise health monitoring, setting new benchmarks in wearable tech.

Withings’ TempTech24/7 module introduces a new paradigm in body temperature tracking. A state-of-the-art heat flux sensor, paired with a highly accurate temperature sensor, offers a gold standard for body temperature variation assessments. This can be critical in identifying the onset of illness and managing workout performances more efficiently.

The inclusion of menstrual cycle tracking in ScanWatch 2 makes it a holistic health tracker for women. This feature allows for the logging of menstrual cycle stages, symptoms, and mood, enabling women to have a better understanding of their monthly needs. The data gathered will be used to predict future menstrual cycles, aiding in lifestyle adjustments.

Don’t be fooled by the name; ScanWatch Light packs a punch in terms of features. Aimed at those at the beginning of their health journey, the model offers comprehensive overviews of heart health, activity tracking, and sleep monitoring. It also shares the 30-day battery life with its more advanced counterpart.

Beyond the watches, the Withings App serves as a 360-degree health data hub. From comprehensive health assessments to educational content, the app delivers a personalised health experience. You can even generate individual health reports to share with your physicians, including specific reports about menstrual cycles for women.
