Steve Jobs’ hobbies and other things you didn’t know about Steve Jobs – As everyone knows, Steve Jobs passed away recently and the technology and business world has lost a true visionary. His leadership and passion for technology was undeniable, and he inspired people all around him on a daily basis. He is a serial entrepreneur, with a great business head and had the uncanny ability to know what people wanted, even before they knew they wanted it.

This skill helped him bring Apple to one of the biggest companies in the world since the start-up in the 1970s. Practically everyone knows his inventions such as the iPod, iPad, and iPhone. These gadgets have changed the way we look at technology and over 300 patents have been filed with his name attached to them for the inventor. Steve Jobs were very much in the public eye, but there a few things that you might not have known about him, in terms of his business ventures and personal life.

1. Pixar

The highly successful and cutting-edge animation studio of Pixar is actually owned by Steve Jobs. Pixar are one of the most recognisable film studios in the world and they have made a number of great films including The Incredibles, A Bug’s Life, Monsters Inc., and of course the Toy Story films. Although people immediately associate Jobs with Apple, Pixar was his other venture which could also be affected by his passing. Business insurance may bridge the gap though for any loss of earnings for the companies.

2. Music

Steve Jobs was passionate about music and enjoyed listening to music in his past-time as a keen hobby. It is known that Jobs’ favourite artist is Bob Dylan, and he used to play a lot of his music during his youth days on his Guitar. It is also noted that Jobs loves the Beatles and Grateful Dead, who were big in the 1960s. He describes himself and an audiophile and spent a whopping $100,000 on a stereo system for his home once he made it.

3. His life

He loved life and often told people the only things that were important to him were his family, Apple, and Pixar. He claims not to socialise much, or attend conferences as he loves spending time with his family and says they are the best in the world. Steve is, “fortunate to love life and everything he does”.

4. Diet

Jobs is a vegan, which was not known to many people. He started his veganism through college at the age of 19 when he started exploring unusual diets. This is true until this day, but he has a soft spot for some fish. It is rumoured that one of Jobs’ favourite meals is plain raw carrot without any dressing or accompaniment.

5. Transport

Steve loves German business and engineering, and is a supporter of Mercedes. He parks at Apple in an handicapped space and jokes that he thought the blue badge symbol was for the ‘Chairman’. He also owns a Gulfstream Jet when he needs to get around the globe in style.
