UPDATE: It’s out! Go to the page (link on the last line of my post) to download it!
Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 is just around the corner. Yes you can see the download link on the page, but unfortunately, the link takes you no where at this stage yet.
However, Microsoft has revealed the expected features that we can see in the upcoming Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1.
The new features are…. *drum rolls* :
- Activities
- WebSlices
- Favorites Bar
- Automatic Crash Recovery
- Improved Phishing Filter
Activities
Quickly access other web services by a simple click (Define from a Dictionary, Do a search on the highlighted words, etc). Pretty useful and definitely is saving you a few clicks.
WebSlices
Subscribe content directly from the browser. It works like an RSS Feed Reader? (Guessing)
Favorites Bar
It’s the IE 7 Links bar been overhauled and renamed to Favorites Bar. A so-so change, in my opinion. Microsoft is mentioning about being able to put your Office documents on there as well. Nifty.
Automatic Crash Recovery
Automatically recovers any crashes with the browser. Although I’d prefer them to make it more stable so that it never crashes. Oh well, better be safe than sorry, I guess.
Improved Phishing Filter
It’s an improved version of IE 7’s Phishing Filter with a more comprehensive feature, called "The Safety Filter".
Go to Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 Readiness Toolkit page here to find out more.

Wow, what a boring release! Technically it should be IE7.1. There just isn’t enough to move up to IE8. The same goes for your post about Messenger 9. I guess it’s a big marketing thing though.

I don’t know. Ever since I used Firefox, can’t seem to appreciate anything what IE has. It crashes, most of the time. Hopefully, this release is something what most people expect of a quality browser.

Well and you are going to be disappointed much more
It crashes every few minutes for me and some sites look funny.
It’s still in beta 1 though and it’s supposed to be released for developers, not end users…. so we’ll see. For now, back to my lovely Firefox!
