Why becoming a product reviewer is not as easy as you thought – Part 1

I had a bit of discussion with a friend of mine a few days ago. She said how lucky I am (because I’ve been getting those wonderful gadgets to try and review on) and how easy it is to review those “free” review products. I tried to defend myself and told her that it wasn’t [...]

Happy April Fool’s Day!

by Michael Aulia on 1 April, 2009

in Geek's Ramblings

If such a greeting exists, of course :D I’ll be waiting to see some great April Fool jokes from Google and possibly other major companies in the world like last year.

The news below is not an April Fool’s joke (I don’t do those stuffs). A worm called the “Conficker” has been lying around for some time and planning to grab your computer using its claws around the April Fool’s day.

For more details about the threat you can also visit US Department of Homeland Security page about the Conficker worm.

If you are already infected by the Conficker worm (ouch) and want to find out how to remove the Conficker worm, you can download a free tool from ESET to remove Win32/Conficker worm.

Yea, Google always does great April Fools Day jokes so I hope you’ll keep us updated on what they do this year. I sent in a fake email to my boss as part of April Fools Day. Yay for fun holidays!

It will be interesting to see what April Fools Day jokes are done this year. Between sites like Google and the blogs, I’m sure there will be enough jokes to go around.

As for the worm, it is pretty much a majority of the news outlets. Another reason for people to keep up-to-date with the security patches.

Yup, every blog and site is talking about the worm. I never hear anyone who gets infected by the worm personally though. It may be something similar to Y2K bug.. panicking over nothing?

Do you know that in Scotland April Fools’ Day is in fact celebrated for two days? The second day is committed to pranks that involve the latter area of the body. It is known as Taily Day. The ‘kick me’ sign was originated within that time. I guess it is safe to say that people of Scotland are fun!
