eufy Clean RoboVac X9 Pro Review – Advanced AI and Cleaning Automation

eufy Clean X9 Pro Review – I have a fair share of reviewing robot vacuum cleaners at Craving Tech, and most bots are packed with similar features and promise. They claim to be smart, thorough, and effective with their operation. But I haven’t seen a bot as smart as the eufy Clean X9 Pro.

It maps my house correctly, it can really detect and avoid obstacles (and didn’t even bump into them), plus the mopping function works really well without all the hassles of filling the tanks frequently. Best of all, it auto cleans the mop and dries it out while being charged at the same time. It’s pretty sophisticated from all angles.

One thing I noticed when I got my eufy Clean X9 Pro review unit was how big it was. This is due to the rather large docking station, which is the biggest one I have so far. And this is not because of lazy design, mind you. The docking station houses two big water tanks: a clean and a dirty water tank used for the mopping function. The way it works is that you need to fill the clean water tank with water (tap water), which will then be used by the bot to wet its mopping pads for mopping the floors.

Other bots that can mop usually have the water tank inside the bot unit – which means it’s usually a small tank that you have to keep filling with water frequently. And by having the water tank off the bot, this also prevents water leaking onto the floors, making them wetter than they should be.

When the bot goes into the docking station, the water inside the clean water tank will also be used to wash the mopping pads. All dirt, stain, and dirty water from the cleaning process will be transferred into the dirty water tank. This keeps the mopping pads clean all the time to mop floors and to make it easier for you to clean. Simply take the dirty water tank out and pour it into the toilet bowl.

The robotic vacuum will wash its mopping pads regularly as it cleans your house, and not just at the end of the cleaning session. This is pretty sophisticated because it keeps the mopping pads clean; you can imagine how dirty they would be if you have a large house and have to wait until the cleaning session is complete before washing the mopping pads. Once cleaned, the bot will go back and continue where it left off.

And once everything is done, there is also a drying function within the station using 40°C heat to prevent the growth of mould or odours. You can change how long you want it to dry the mopping pads. This is great because you no longer need to take the mopping pads out and hang them to dry manually. You do need to remember to clean the dirty water tank.

Note that there is no self-emptying bin function here that auto-transfers the trash into the docking station. This has to be done manually. The good side of this is that you do not need to frequently replace the bin bag inside the docking station.

As far as performance goes, it has dual rotating mops that spin at 180 RPM and apply 1kg of pressure (according to eufy) and, surprisingly, it works really well in removing dirt and stains on our floors. It also vacuums (even though I’ve only been talking about mopping so far) and, while you wouldn’t replace your Dyson cordless vacuum cleaners with this on carpeted areas, eufy X9 Pro does a good job.

When it’s approaching a carpet, the mop is automatically raised 12mm to keep your carpets dry while vacuuming. This works really well on our ground floor with ceramic tiles – in which we have a big carpet in front of our sofa in the living room area. We also place a play mat on top of the carpet, so it’s a challenging environment for the eufy X9 Pro: a play mat on top of carpet, on top of tiles.

The bot doesn’t just see/sense carpets. It also senses objects, and it’s one of the most advanced compared to the previous robot vacuum cleaners I’ve reviewed. It’s good to see that sensor technology on these little things is getting better and better. Accurate AI.See System can detect even slippers that are lying around our house and also cables near the wall. It can even go through between the chair legs under our dining table.

When manoeuvring around the house, eufy X9 Pro is very confident in finding its way back to its station and to where it was last. This makes it fast and easy to ask it to clean certain areas of the house. Speaking of which, it will create a map of the entire house as it does its thing. Inside the app, you can rename the rooms and even get the bot to clean certain areas of the house that you think needs more cleaning.

You’ll get notified of many things through the app such as if the clean water tank is running low, if it ever gets stuck, etc.

During the stormy days in Melbourne last week, we had some visitors and their shoes (and ours) left all kinds of dirt on the floor so I sent eufy X9 Pro to our front door area and it managed to properly clean the floor quickly.

eufy Clean X9 Pro Review Conclusion

eufy Clean X9 Pro is one of the most advanced robot vacuum cleaners I’ve ever reviewed here at Craving Tech. It can confidently traverse the map that it’s created and saved in its memory, detect many obstacles, including even smaller objects like cables, and even automatically raise the mop pads when it goes onto carpets.

Its docking station is also quite advanced. It has large tanks for both clean and dirty water within, and will clean the mopping pads attached on the robot while cleaning (and after), plus dry them afterwards. The app is also powerful and easy to use.

eufy Clean X9 Pro is available now at eufy website and retails for A$1,499.95.
