It’s the news that many Overwatch players have been waiting for, including myself. I still play Overwatch almost every night with my friends (you can check my Overwatch montage clips on every gaming mouse reviews here at Craving Tech) and while we are still happy with the current state of Overwatch PvP, we are eagerly waiting for Overwatch 2.
And of course, the Overwatch team had been silent about this and we had to rely on hearing rumours about when the game would be out, or even when we could get our hands on a Beta.
No more waiting, folks. Overwatch 2 Beta is here (well, next month) and the news is coming straight from the Overwatch team.
Overwatch’s new Game Director, Aaron Keller also releases a Developer Update video ensuring Overwatch fans that they have been listening to our feedback and from now on, will be more transparent with the development and what’s to come. There’s not much updates happening in Overwatch 1 and we understand, so it’s assuring to hear that we’ll get more contents and regular updates in Overwatch 2.
The Overwatch 2 Closed Beta (yes, unfortunately it’s a closed beta at the moment) will be available to public by the end of April 2022 and if you want to participate, make sure to register for Overwatch 2 Closed Beta.
There is indeed a Closed Alpha Testing beginning today, but it’s reserved to Blizzard employees, Overwatch League pros, and a few other select groups in select regions.
Overwatch 2’s first PvP Beta will include:
- The new 5v5 system
- New Hero: Sojourn
- New Maps
- New Mode:Push
- Hero Reworks
- New Ping System
This is made possible by separating PvP and PvE in Overwatch 2 (which I think is a good idea). This way, PvP can get into our hands sooner and I’m sure no one will complain. From the past announcement, owners of the first Overwatch can play Overwatch 2 PvP for free. You’ll only have to make a new purchase if you want to play the PvE contents.
So what are you waiting for, go and sign up to the Overwatch 2 Beta already!
